Situated along the edge of the cheerful coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea, this delightful period cottage makes a lovely getaway for couples and smaller families, with ample space for a four-legged friend to come along. An ideal base for exploring the Norfolk coast, this quirky cottage dates back to the 19th century and has been sweetly updated to offer cosy holiday accommodation for three guests. With original features including wooden beams, exposed brickwork and a welcoming wood burner, the property offers a relaxing retreat within easy reach of the town centre, the harbour, a local park and a sandy dog-friendly beach.
You will find the fresh, light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which provides a cosy space to unwind in at the end of a great day discovering this idyllic part of Norfolk. The pretty lounge has a Smart TV, comfortable seating and a roaring wood burner, with a sociable dining table over by the sectioned-off kitchen which has plenty of equipment. The steep, narrow cottage-style staircase winds round, up to the first floor where there are two cheerful bedrooms: a relaxing single room and a lovely double with an en-suite shower room. Although the property has no outside space of its own, there’s a charming park just 50 metres away with plenty of space for your canine companion to exercise.
Wells has a choice of pet-welcoming places to eat and drink, with a beautiful sandy beach just a mile away. Dogs and their owners can enjoy long coastal walks, including a circular walk across the sand dunes of Holkham Beach and towards the parkland surrounding Holkham Hall (2.5 miles). Dogs are welcome on the Wells and Walsingham Light railway, and can help you explore the ruins of Creake Abbey (8 miles) before heading to the picturesque 17th-century village of Burnham Market (5.5 miles).
