Holiday as a full pack (up to eight on two legs and two on four) at this large period property in Ilfracombe. This wonderful three-storey house has four bedrooms and seamlessly mixes original Victorian features and luxury touches with contemporary styling. Most importantly, however, it’s supremely comfortable and practical for an extended family or friendship group. The town centre and its amenities plus a choice of beaches are all within 0.5 miles, making it the ideal base for exciting town forays. Or lead the way to adventures discovering inland and coastal elements of this stunning North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Original tiling, doors, panelling, fireplaces, rolltop bath, coving and cornicing meet excellent contemporary design and fittings in this beautiful house with stylish quirky decor that should give you a new leash of life. The lofty-ceilinged lounge is an impressive room with more than a touch of luxury redolent of past glories. The smart dining room easily seats eight at the table, while there’s another smaller table in the sleek contemporary kitchen with funky tiled floor. Upstairs, you’ll find one double and one king-size bedroom, with two twin bedrooms up again on the second floor. All four rooms are sumptuous with ornamental fireplaces and individual boutique-style finishes, while the two twins have charming sloping ceilings. The fun continues outdoors, with a small walled area with decking, seating, a BBQ and a useful tap for potentially mucky pups.

Ilfracombe’s galleries, shops and eateries are on your doorstep and the quaint harbour is within 1 mile from this family-friendly house. In warmer months, don’t miss the Tunnels Beaches, an historic network of four hand-carved Victorian tunnels taking you to beaches and tidal swimming pools. Dogs allowed in tunnels only. Otherwise, set tails wagging with a walk along the South West Coast Path.

We had a lovely stay for New Year. Week equipped, a nod to Christmas decorations but without being over the top. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Nice to have a separate dinning room. Easy walk to town and the seafront. Arrived to a bottle of bubbles in the fridge, thank you very much.

Property was a little rough around the edges, most of the decoration had been rushed/poor standard ( different colour behind radiators etc) But overall the property was nice. If we had paid 1600/1700 it would have been better value. Also some basics like, sugar, salt, cooking oil etc, would reduce the outlay to make simple meals from home.

House was excellent, exactly what we needed. It was very comfortable and my family really, really enjoyed their stay. No complaints whatsoever.

The house is in a good position, around a 20 minute walk to the harbour for pubs and restaurants. Parking is available on the road but as its August, difficult to find a space. House is very nice and comfortable, with everything you need. The garden is a bit small and the steps are a little precarious! It was nice to be provided with dishwasher tabRead morelets, washing powder, a toilet roll in every toilet and supplies to make a hot drink on arrival, including milk. Added bonus of a Lidl 2 minutes away. I would recommend booking for evening meals as we found we could not get into some of the recommended restaurants. Hide

Lovely spacious house. Nothing was too much trouble from the letting company as in we requested a new BBQ and it was delivered and the bedding and towels were all lovely quality. That said we had a lovely time, and was very sad to leave. Will definitely use Original Cottages again. Thank you.
