This pretty cottage is right on the seafront at Sandsend and has bags of room for six guests and two furry family members. It’s a great base for friends or family to enjoy the village and local area, with the towns of Whitby and Staithes nearby. There are unlimited walks nearby in the North York Moors and along the coast.
Arranged over three floors, there’s plenty of space to hang out together or spread out. There’s a cosy lounge with comfy sofas, a Smart TV, a wood burner, and a conservatory with another TV. There’s also a kitchen/diner, with a breakfast bar, and a lovely contemporary family bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor is a double bedroom with a balcony, and a snug, somewhere to chill and read a book or enjoy the sea views. The second double and twin are on the second floor. There’s outside space at the front and back, a lawn and a patio at the front, and a raised deck at the rear that captures the sun all day long with space for dining alfresco.
Literally, leave the house and you’re on the beach, a great spot for a stroll, rock pooling or fossil hunting. Enjoy lovely walks with your four-legged friend on the Sandsend Trail, part of the Cleveland Way, which takes you past remains from the mining industry. Walk to the ruins of the Norman Mulgrave Castle in a gorgeous woodland estate, 2 miles away and part of the Geocache Arts Trail (a digital-era type of orienteering). The village has a superb local pub where canines are welcome; there are small cafes on the beach and two good quality restaurants too. To treat your best friends, head to the doggy bakery in Whitby 3 miles away.
