This bright and funky, family-friendly house is in an incredible location with amazing sea views on the coast at Port Mulgrave. There’s lots of space for six guests, with two of the four bedrooms and one of the bathrooms on the ground floor. Up to three furry family members are welcome and the garden is great for humans and canines alike.

The house is on a quiet street with a welcoming home-from-home vibe. On the ground floor, you’ll find the long open-plan living space, featuring a kitchen, dining area, and lounge with gorgeous views out to sea, a wood-burner-effect electric fire and Individual French doors to the paved patio. Two of the four bedrooms – the two doubles – and a downstairs bathroom are also on the ground floor. Upstairs are the two single bedrooms, perfect for children, plus a shower room with a second WC. There’s lots of space in the garden: a paved patio on the level, a paved area down some steps and a lovely large lawn for everyone to enjoy.

Port Mulgrave is a small village on the edge of the North York Moors equidistant between the coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes. You can wander along the clifftops on Cleveland Way to the sandy beach at Runswick Bay with your four-legged friends (1.5 miles). There’s a lovely 4-mile circular walk to Staithes along the coast which returns across fields and woodland via Dalehouse, where you could stop for a pub lunch. Whitby is 10 miles away with ancient, cobbled streets and beaches to explore, it’s also known for having fantastic restaurants and fish and chip shops. Your canine friends don’t have to miss out, there’s a doggy bakery there too.

Fantastic view but not for anyone who seeks privacy. Decent garden, fence quite low though. Bedrooms upstairs only really suitable for kids. Needs some updating, decor, new oven and hob required. No dishwasher. Comfy bed and sofa. Lovely towels and bedding. Instant warmth on chilly days and very hot water.

Everyone does their holiday differently and whilst this is a lush little holiday home it wasn't quite our cup of tea. A family of 3 (2 adults and a teenager) and 2 grandparents with 3 big dogs, the home provided everything we needed from having the basics pov. Back garden area is beautiful, watching sunrise at 5.30am coming over the sea was wonRead morederful but we like to sit out alot and the lack of privacy from either side didn't appeal to us. The fences are about 3ft chicken wire on the right looking out to the sea and about 4 foot on the left and bottom. On the raised patio it's easy for a big dog to jump the fence. Luckily ours didn't Hide

Lovely peaceful cottage. Field in front and sea view lovely. Shame you cant get to beach from cottage but a drive to Whitby and the beach is there. Whitby museum well worth a visit. Use the park and ride for ease of parking.

We loved our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and what a fantastic location! We watched a sunrise, walked, fossil hunted and went crabbing and all within walking distance. Three generations and the dogs had a fantastic week.

The location is great. Just be aware that only 1 parking space and stifle to get the second car parked close by we had to leave it on the road at the end. Its a shame you cannot get down to the port now, as this was one of the reasons we booked here but the Cleveland path is great one to start walks from still. Its worth noting that the pictures do seem to make it look bigger than it is and for a family of 4 adults and 1 teen is was just big enough as the teen and old child kept to their rooms when in .
