Property code: OC-MLTY

Situated in the heart of Southwold on the Suffolk coast, this beautiful three-storey property is the perfect hideaway for a family or group of friends and up to three pups looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea. Explore Southwold with its pretty beach huts, lighthouse and common. The sandy beach is suitable for paw prints between 1 October and 31 March, or head to Denes Beach (0.5 miles) which is accessible all year round.

This splendid property is perfect for relaxing with family or friends. The original features are beautifully combined with all the comforts of contemporary living to make for a memorable stay. Walk through the lobby into the snug, which has soft seating and a Smart TV for movie nights. The kitchen/dining room has doors leading out onto the courtyard garden and everything you need to prepare memorable meals. From here, stairs lead up to the lounge/dining room and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The striking living room has a high vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and a brick chimney. There is plenty of comfortable seating, so your hounds have space to nap while you chat or watch the Smart TV. Stairs lead down to the ground floor of the east wing where you will find a twin bedroom and a family shower room. From here, you enter the annexe with a king-size bedroom and an en-suite shower room. Stairs with open access lead to a twin bedroom. Outside, the paved split-level patio is a lovely sunny spot with space for al fresco meals or drinks.

Take your sea dogs on the rowing boat ferry and enjoy a day at Walberswick Beach - go crabbing or try kite flying or surfing. A lovely day out is Dunwich Heath and Beach (11 miles), where you can walk for miles but because there are ground-nesting birds, your four-legged friends will need to be on a lead between March and August. Alternatively, head to the charming seaside town of Aldeburgh (18.5 miles), home to the Aldeburgh Literary Festival, many galleries and iconic sculptures.

Fantastic location in the heart of Southwold. Kitchen downstairs. Upstairs is a glorious space for eating and togetherness. Bedroom layout slightly odd but can be made to work if you know that of the bedrooms are more like a self contain family space for 4 people. Beds very comfortable. We had a great weekend

Large house that worked very well for our extended family. Location just off high street was ideal for elderly parents. Everyone found the beds comfortable and really enjoyed the large living/dinning room.

This property is in a very central location to the high street of southwold and suited us perfectly for our needs. It was well equipped and very clean and warm. It is a quirky layout but very spacious. We had our early Christmas there and the place was very warm and a Christmas tree and decorations had been put up. Would definitely recommend.

Although the place could have been a bit cleaner and we struggled to regulate the heating all week, once those points have been rectified, the Maltings is a fabulous place to stay. Very comfortable, with a huge sitting/dining room, but also lots of nooks and crannies if you need some quiet time. Situated conveniently right in the center of SouthwolRead mored. Great value for money overall. Hide
