Property code: OC-CB663

A beautifully restored hop pickers hut situated on the peaceful Spelmonden Estate, this romantic bolthole is the perfect rural retreat for a couple and their waggy-tailed third wheel. Amble through the leafy grounds of the Medieval Bodiam Castle then refuel at the dog-friendly Castle View Cafe, before firing up the BBQ and basking in the afternoon sun from your tranquil private terrace.

This contemporary hideaway boasts a crisp, minimalist interior with clean lines and a calming neutral colour palette with sunny splashes of yellow. Kick off muddy shoes at the door then pad into the light-flooded open-plan living space. Throw open the lodge doors and embrace airy indoor-outdoor living while you prepare some locally sourced post-adventure snacks in the chic gloss handless kitchen. Treat your hungry hound to an al fresco supper on the patio then grab a bottle and perch at the dining table for an intimate evening meal or join Fido and feast outdoors with uninterrupted views of the lush Kent countryside. After the sun has dipped below the horizon, retreat indoors, snuggle up on the sofa, and unwind with a film on the Smart TV. Sniff out the cosiest corner for a fluffy doggy bed then rest up in the plush double bed for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Pack a picnic and enjoy a long stretch of the legs or a scenic bike ride along the reservoir banks at Bewl Water, 5 miles, or saunter through the dense conifer woodland at the Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, 4.5 miles, where curious canines will have a ball sniffing out the intriguing forest scents. I was not expecting such a beautiful and quiet setting, the views from the cottage are stunning and If you want your dog to join you on your break, then seek no more. No crossing roads for walks, lead on and you just walk into fields!!

This is an excellent cottage - one of the best equipped and most conmfotable that we have stayed in. Thw location is very quiet and looks out on fields and headgerows. Its downside is that, although Goudhurst is within comfortable walking distance, we have not yet discovered an off road path to get there although there is a pleasant footpath acrossRead more the fields to Lamberhurst and Scotneu Castle. My stay with my dog was most enjoyable at Cooks Hopper Hut. I really cant fault anything about where I was staying. I love the positioning of the huts, bright, light, airy and private. I also loved the peace and quiet. The hut is well equipped with everything which you need while youre staying there. I highly recommend a visit. A big thank youRead more to Karen and Nigel.
