Coastal-cool interiors are complemented by a restful sunroom and secluded, enclosed garden at this family- and pet-friendly seaside residence. Dunes on the doorstep lead to miles of sandy walks, and there’s storage space for beach and sports gear too.
Perfect for a beach-loving family or group of friends, this three-bedroomed home offers ultra-convenience for five guests and a canine companion. The house has a useful entrance porch where you can deposit coats and dog leads before heading into the stylish lounge/diner where a multi-fuel stove will warm paws and toes and cast a cosy glow after-dark. A window throws light on dinner-table discussions at one end of this space; at the other, double doors lead into a sunroom which has further seating and access to the garden so Fido can explore at his leisure. The contemporary styling continues in the kitchen, where a Nespresso coffee machine is among the modern must-haves. Upstairs, a super-king-size bedroom offers views towards The Cheviot Hills and has steps down to an en-suite bathroom. A double bedroom has views of the Farne Islands, and a single bedroom looks across the dunes towards the sea. A spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower completes the first-floor layout. Lap up gorgeous sunsets from the rear, west-facing garden where Fido can sniff around a secluded lawned area with borders, enclosed by a stone wall and fence. Your outdoor space includes a patio area with countryside views; furniture and a BBQ mean you can dine al fresco. At the front of the property, the garage can be used store beach and sports gear; there’s a handy utility and drying area plus WC here too – all easily accessed from the rear garden.
Cross the road out front and the dunes lead to a beautiful beach – turn left for wonderful walks past Bamburgh’s iconic castle to Budle Bay (2.6 miles), or turn right and the fishing harbour of Seahouses is 2.8 miles away. Take a boat trip from here to the wildlife-rich Farne Islands; well-behaved dogs can stay on board while you spend an hour ashore and afterwards you can all enjoy a fish and chips supper! If you’ve a taste for history, drive 15 miles north to Holy Island, or stroll a mile into Bamburgh: dogs are welcome in the castle grounds, bar and cafe.
