Owners of small dogs need look no further – this postcard-pretty cottage is an ideal retreat for a couple and their not-so-big furry friend, with a delightful garden for you all to enjoy. Off the beaten track in a quiet part of Stiffkey, it’s close to wonderful walks, gorgeous beaches and a welcoming village pub.
Cute as a button, this single-storey, bijou cottage is set back from the road in a peaceful location. Stroll through its beautiful courtyard and then enter straight into the stylish lounge, furnished with a comfortable sofa and a wood burner for cosy evenings. In the corner, there’s a dining table for two and a TV, as well as a DVD and a selection of films to watch. The compact but well-equipped kitchen contains everything you’ll need to prepare romantic meals. In a quirky arrangement, you’ll go through the shower room to reach the elegant double bedroom, a tranquil space with delightful decor. Light pours into this room through glazed double doors which lead out to the enclosed garden, a gorgeous space with a variety of plants and a table and chairs for you to enjoy outdoor meals while Fido chases his tail.
The coastal village of Stiffkey sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is renowned for its saltmarsh, one of the country’s richest in wildlife. Try the dog-friendly pub just 300 metres from the cottage, serving fresh food made from local ingredients, and walk off a big lunch on the Norfolk Coast Path, which skirts the saltmarsh towards Blakeney to the east and Wells-next-the-Sea to the west. By contrast, in the Georgian town of Holt (9 miles), you’ll find a variety of boutique shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and galleries to explore.
