Watch your waggy-tailed friend bound out of the car with joy when he arrives at this delightful cottage in West Norfolk. With a cart lodge-style design, the modern retreat nestles in the picturesque countryside just 2.5 miles from the beautiful, dog-friendly beach at Old Hunstanton. Sleeping two guests, plus their canine companion, the one-bedroom bolthole sits in enclosed grounds, where your happy hound can bound and play, and makes a great romantic retreat.

Approach the cottage through its immaculate grounds and open the front door to discover its bright, airy interior. Walk through the kitchen/diner to top up your pal’s drinking bowl and make yourselves a nice cup of tea after your latest walk. Feed your furry friend in here too and prepare romantic meals to sit down to at the table with your partner. Follow the stairs up to the first floor to find the comfortable lounge. Gaze out at the rural views, watch a film on Smart TV or the DVD and give your furry-eared friend a good stroke. When it is time to turn in, wander through to the double bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom, for a good night’s sleep. Let your chum enjoy the freedom of the garden on sunny days while you light the BBQ and pour yourselves a glass of chilled wine. There is parking for two cars here, plus the carport.

Follow the Norfolk Coast Path from Old Hunstanton to Thornham for a good 4.5-mile stretch of furry legs. Have a day out on the beach at Heacham, where pups can dip their paws in the salty water all year round. Plan a day trip to the Royal Sandringham Estate with its magnificent parkland to explore. There are more than 240 acres here where you can roam freely with your faithful friend.

The Cartlodge is a lovely holiday cottage, Hugo (dog) & I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay! The cottage itself is very comfortable, complete with a secure driveway/garden (perfect for Hugo), the kitchen is well equipped & the air source heat pump heating works very well. Comfy bed too! It's a very relaxing place to stay - Ringstead itself is Read morea lovely wee place, the General Store (& Cafe) is a wonderful aladdin's cave - I managed to buy bread, fresh croissants & an art print in 1 visit! The cafe is lovely (as were the friendly locals) & dog friendly. Outwith Ringstead, there's lots of places to visit - Hunstanton is only about 3 miles away (with a beach), the beaches at Holme and Brancaster are amazing as well. Wells next the Sea, Sheringham & Cromer aren't too far away either. Sandringham is just down the road as well. In short, I'd happily visit again! Hide

We had a great stay at the Cartlodge, it is a very nice and well done out and presented property that is in a great location for the beaches. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped, good fridge freezer. One thing I really liked was that there is plenty of cupboard space for our own stuff which is often not the case at other properties. We also haRead mored our parents down for one day and was able to get four round the table using the garden chairs. Upstairs, the lounge is spacious and comfortable, we was able to log into Netflix and Prime to keep up with our viewerages whilst away. The bathroom is well done out and the shower was great, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Only issue we had was the bed size as we are used to a superking from home so going down two sizes was a bit much for us, but to be fair it is as advertised though just to warn it is a squeaky bed to boost. For me the room is big easily big enough to take a King. Other than that the bedroom itself is lovely, decent storage and nice views out and velux windows to keep the room cool. The location is excellent, easy 9 minute walk to the Gin Trap which is a lovely pub and easy drive out to Hunstanton, Holme and Brancaster for the beaches. Had some great early morning walks at Holme as parking free up to 09:30 am and a nice bakery to the side of White Horse pub in Home Village where we had nice cookies and coffee. Also we were blessed with excellent weather for most of the holiday so all in all we had a fab time once we got used to the bed :-D Hide
