Wake up to the smell of sea air in this coastal bolthole, just 500 metres from Seaton Beach. Sleeping four guests and one hound, the cottage makes an excellent couples’ retreat. Enjoy pre-breakfast dog walks along the shore, or stride out along the South West Coast Path, which passes through the town. The seaside resorts of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are within 10 miles of the property.
The charming mews cottage is full of character, with exposed beams and brickwork. Hang up your coats and dog lead in the entrance hall, and head into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax on the sofa to watch TV or cook up a storm in the cute kitchen area, before gathering around the dining table by the window. The space has hard floors throughout, making it easy to deal with sandy pawprints. The family bathroom completes the ground floor. An open-tread staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find the double and twin bedroom (which can be made up as a king-size on request). There is a small outdoor area to the front of the cottage, where you can sit with a morning coffee whilst the pup stretches their legs.
Seaton Beach is a pebble beach and has sections that welcome hounds all year. It’s also a great spot for swimming and water sports, and you can hire kayaks and paddleboards nearby. A ride on the heritage trams is a must; the paw-friendly attraction takes you on a 3-mile journey through the unspoilt Devon countryside. The elegant town of Sidmouth (9.5 miles) makes a lovely day out. Explore its cute boutiques and galleries and take a stroll through the streets to admire the stunning Regency architecture. The town is also home to The Donkey Sanctuary, which is another woof-friendly attraction.
