Surrounded by the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this traditional stone-built cottage comes complete with wonderful original features, a cosy living room and an attractive walled garden - the perfect West Country retreat for a couple or family alongside a couple of canine companions.
Step through the door and be greeted by exposed wooden beams, quaint furnishings, and unique artworks adorning the walls. On the ground floor, the lounge/diner is the perfect place to relax and unwind, with a wood burner-effect gas fireplace that Rover is sure to adore, and a dining area with a table set for six. For lazy morning brunches, the kitchen with an additional breakfast table is just next door. And if you need extra sleeping quarters, a second sitting room with a sofa bed is also available on the ground floor. Upstairs, a steep cottage-style staircase leads to the first floor, where you''ll find a family bathroom and two pretty bedrooms with an extra children''s Z-bed available for use in either room. Outside, the attractive walled garden at the rear of the property is the perfect spot to soak up the summer sun while Fido safely explores the fully enclosed borders.
From scenic walks and trails to pet-friendly pubs and cafes, there''s no shortage of dog-friendly activities in the area. The East Devon Way, a 40-mile footpath that runs from Exmouth to Lyme Regis, passes through Colyton, offering breathtaking views of the Jurassic Coast and the surrounding countryside with plenty for inquisitive hounds to investigate along the way. Alternatively, head to the seaside at Seaton (3 miles), where most of the sweeping shoreline is open for four-legged friends to frolic year-round. Dogs are also welcome on board the vintage trams at the Seaton Tramway, which run along a scenic route through the Axe Valley. You can hop on and off at various stops, including the historic village of Colyford.
