Located in the pretty village of Askrigg in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this wonderful home-from-home is the perfect base for exploring the stunning local area. There’s a cosy wood burner, patios at the front and back of the house, and two bedrooms and two bathrooms so the house is ideal for a family or a group of friends.
The traditional, stone terrace has country-style furnishings and original features that make it such a cosy and comfortable place to stay, with beamed ceilings and a stone hearth that houses the wood burner. Also on the ground floor, there’s a large kitchen/diner with a back door out to the rear patio. Upstairs, you’ll find the master bedroom, with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, and the second bedroom, which is a twin and uses the family bathroom with a shower and bath. There are two outside areas for everyone to enjoy, a small patio at the front and an enclosed terrace at the back – handy for your canine companions.
Being in the Dales, you’ll be spoilt for choice for beautiful walks right from the door. There are impressive waterfalls nearby that you can walk to, including Mill Gill Force and Whitfield Gill Force, 3 miles from the village. There are lovely walks at Semer Water too – the largest natural lake in the county – about 4 miles from the house. After a good day’s walking, you could head to one of the three village pubs for a pint and a hearty meal, one of which played the Drover’s Arms in All Creatures Great and Small so of course, your canine friends are welcome there. Just 12 miles away is the market town of Leyburn with more shops, pubs, and restaurants to enjoy.
