Attached to the owner’s farmhouse, this traditional home is set on a working farm in 100 acres of open countryside and is ideal for families or friends with up to four faithful hounds looking for a relaxing stay. This is a perfect base for exploring the remote North Gower. The Welsh Moor (1 mile) is perfect for a walk with your pups, and you can walk from the doorstep to get there.
This lovely two-storey property retains a farmhouse feel with plenty of character on show in the original features, including exposed ceiling beams and a beautiful wooden staircase. On the ground floor is a generously proportioned lounge/diner/kitchen where you can relax with your four-legged friends on the cushy seating around the wood burner. This is the heart of the home. The contemporary kitchen has everything you need to prepare some family favourites to enjoy at the dining table. There is a shower room on this level. Upstairs you’ll find a wonderful family bathroom and three bedrooms - a double with an en-suite bathroom and two twin bedrooms. Outside is an enormous, enclosed lawned garden, which is ideal for letting the pups have a run, and a paved patio with outdoor furniture and views over Llanrhidian, making this the perfect spot for drinks and al fresco dining in fine weather.
Look out for oystercatchers at the National Trust’s Whiteford National Nature Reserve (6.5 miles) with sand dunes, beach, and salt marshes. Enjoy a walk on Cefn Bryn and discover the history around the prehistoric monument known as King Arthur’s Stone (5 miles), or there’s great surfing to be had from Hillend on Rhossili Bay Beach (12 miles), one of Wales’ finest shorelines for four paws to have a romp in the sea. Oxwich Bay (8 miles) is another must-see, and here you can go coasteering, walk along the coast path or take a boat trip to watch for dolphins.
