Bring your favourite canine companion to this beautiful cottage, which is a perfect romantic bolthole for couples. Set in mature Victorian gardens and overlooking the National Trust land of Cefn Bryn, the cottage sits on a limestone promontory overlooking Three Cliffs Bay in the small village of Penmaen, from where nature lovers can access The Gower Way footpath, which offers spectacular views of the Gower coastline.

This characterful two-storey cottage is an annexe to the larger house and was formerly the schoolhouse. The stylish and elegant furnishings create a warm and welcoming ambience. On the ground floor there is a contemporary and bright open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with original features such as exposed beams and stone walls. The cosy seating areas are a welcome invitation after a day of exploring with your pup, and there is a TV. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up some home-cooked treats. The bathroom is accessed down a staircase. On the first floor you will find a spacious double bedroom with views of Three Cliffs Bay. Outside, the cottage has a patio area with garden furniture, perfect for a morning brew. You can also access the property''s shared landscaped garden, an open pond and a Victorian gazebo overlooking the sea.

Three Cliffs Bay is a beautiful place to walk with access to the nearby coastal path where you can head towards Oxwich Bay Beach (7.5 miles) or by car (3 miles). The walk has breathtaking scenery, and the bay is ideal for paddleboarding and kayaking. If your sea dog enjoys boat trips, you can go out to watch for dolphins along the coast. The many seaside attractions, independent shops and seafood eateries of Mumbles are just 6 miles away, and Oystermouth Castle (7.5 miles) is a great place to step back in time and let four paws sniff out some timeless adventures.

  • 1 bedroom with double bed
  • 1 bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and WC - this bathroom is accessed via a narrow staircase with 15 stairs
  • Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher
  • Laundry facilities available upon request
  • TV, DVD player and mini HiFi
  • WiFi signal is intermittent, though is accessible from the garden
  • Private patio and shared garden
  • Victorian gazebo
  • Unrestricted parking outside the boundary wall
  • Pub and shop within 1.5 miles
  • Given its unusual layout, with narrow staircases, this property is not suitable for guests with limited mobility

Glorious view from the bay window in the bedroom with comfy arm chairs so you can watch the sun rise over the three cliffs. The best accommodation in the area. Decorated to a high standard with all you need.

The cottage and hosts were lovely but the living space was a bit restricted. Thankfully the weather made that irrelevant.
