A gorgeous 18th-century cottage with a colourful history as a smuggler’s inn overlooks Pwll Du Beach and is ideal for an extended family or group of friends or families and two sets of four paws looking for a secluded seaside hideaway. Let your pups lead you less than 500 metres down to the tranquil sandy beach to swim, surf and picnic or venture two miles along the coast to secluded Pobbles Bay.

Enter this exquisite two-storey property, and you will immediately notice the charm of this place, boasting exposed ceiling beams and flagstone flooring throughout the ground floor. The heart of the home is the main lounge, where everyone can cosy on the comfortable corner sofa. Light the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace in the lounge and settle down together to watch TV with your pups snoozing contentedly. Prepare hearty feasts in the characterful, contemporary kitchen and eat in a vaulted dining room. Upstairs is the split-level landing with a family bathroom and three bedrooms - one super-king-size room, one double room with an additional single bed, and a family room featuring a double bed with a single bed over it. This room has an en-suite shower room. Outside, follow the stone steps to reach the enclosed, lawned garden where your pups can run around while you dine out and soak up the magical sea views.

There are plenty of local attractions to visit. Delve into the area’s history at Pennard Castle (2 miles) or Oystermouth Castle (4 miles) where your hounds will love to sniff out some timeless adventures. Water sports enthusiasts can head to Oxwich Bay (9 miles) where you can indulge in coasteering, paddleboarding and kayaking while your pups can go mutts on the beautiful sandy beach. Or head inland to walk the picturesque Cefyn Bryn Common to find the legendary spot of King Arthur’s Stone (10 miles).

  • Please note, there is no vehicular access to the property other than by the owner’s 4X4 on arrival and departure days only
  • In very extreme cases, if the small river floods and then access is by foot only via the beach or a woodland path
  • Guests leave their car in a residential area, 1 mile from the property; the owners will collect them from a meeting point on arrival and transport them to their destination
  • Guests are welcome to bring their own 4X4 if they are confident to drive off road and are liable for their own car
  • The track is rough and steep, and cars may get scratched, but the owner is happy to talk guests through the access route
  • To ensure a comfortable stay, we advise guests to bring enough food for the duration of their stay.
