This rural retreat on the spectacular Gower Peninsula sleeps four guests and three accompanying hounds, making it perfect for small families and couples. The property sits amongst 100 acres of wood and grassland, providing endless walks to explore with your canine chums. Nearby doggy days out include Rhossili Bay (11 miles) and Mumbles (12 miles). After a day of adventure, return to your cosy cottage to unwind in the glow of the wood burner.
The self-contained holiday cottage is part of the owner’s farmhouse. The cottage is full of character, with original features and traditional furniture throughout. The ground floor has a sociable, open-plan layout comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner, and is bathed in natural light thanks to patio doors opening onto the garden. Spend your time rustling up home-cooked meals in the farmhouse-style kitchen, dining around the wooden table, or sharing after-dinner drinks on the plump sofas. On cooler evenings, fire up the wood burner, to create a cosy dozing spot for the hounds. A utility room and shower room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, choose from a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room or one of the twin bedrooms with a separate bathroom. The large, enclosed garden is predominantly laid to lawn, with ample space for children and pups to play. There’s also a patio with furniture for al fresco dining.
As well as the fantastic walks from your front door, you’ll also be close to some of Gower’s most popular routes. A dog walk on Cefn Bryn Common will take you past the iconic Arthur’s Stone (4.5 miles), a Neolithic tomb associated with many Welsh legends and tales. Alternatively, head to Rhossili Bay to explore the clifftop paths, which offer spectacular views and wildlife watching opportunities. For great shops and eateries, journey to the vibrant village of Mumbles.
