Property code: OC-HH174

A wonderful escape for two, this former village forge blends characterful features with modern decor for a relaxing retreat. Set beneath a leafy canopy on the edge of Parkmill, it’s a stylish base for a couple or solo traveller exploring the Gower Peninsula with their faithful, four-legged friend.

A couple of steps lead up into a light, open-plan living space where wooden floors, exposed beams and contemporary fittings create a stylish yet rustic feel. The lounge area sits in the centre of the room, giving you somewhere comfy to curl up in front of a film while your happy hound snoozes on the rug at your feet. When tummies rumble, prepare meals in the fitted kitchen before settling around the table to dine. Enjoy a refreshing shower in the downstairs shower room before heading up the cottage-style stairs to get cosy under the covers of the double bed, set beneath a low sloping ceiling. Patio doors lead out to a small front garden, where a bench, picnic table and BBQ offer a lovely space to enjoy supper in the fresh air while your pup sniffs out new scents. Private parking for two cars adds convenience.

For an easy meal out, cross the road to the local pub where humans and hounds receive a warm welcome and a hearty meal. Kilvrough Manor Woods offers the perfect spot for morning walkies and the opportunity to spot local birdlife along the shaded trails. If your pup loves scampering on sands, Three Cliffs Bay and Pobbles Bay (within 1.5 miles) are dog-friendly year-round, while the sophisticated seaside town of Mumbles (6 miles) is the perfect place to stroll along the prom, stopping for an ice cream or fish and chips.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Little Forge. The cottage was compact but felt spacious and airy and equipped with everything you need. The location was perfect for exploring the Gower and also for local walks. The bed was probably the most comfortable we have slept in. The welcome pack was generous and much appreciated.

We had an amazing stay in the Little Forge. It is in a great location with footpaths from your door. The friendly owners live next door and are on hand if needed. A lovely cosy and warm cottage with a good shower and fluffy towels. The welcome pack was much appreciated too. Hide

Property is tired and lacking comfortable seating both inside and outdoors in particular. Bedding (pillows, etc. well worn. It was all clean though and a lovely shower. Location opposite the Gower Inn was a bonus as excellent food served there.

We have been visiting the Gower for nearly 30 years now so we must have passed this quaint cottage hundreds of times without being aware of its existence as it is hidden behind a tall hedge, close to the main road. So you get a fair bit of noise from the traffic but we didn't notice it too much. It's located near to our favourite beaches so we didRead moren't have to do a lot of driving during our stay and there are 3 walkable routes down to Three Cliffs bay. There is space to park just outside the cottage. The owners live close by so are on hand in the event of any problems. Fortunately we didn't require their assistance. The cottage has a spacious main room containing the kitchen area, a dining table, a sofa and a coffee table. A steep stairway takes you up to a mezzanine bedroom with a low ceiling. Our stay was during early summer but it was quite cool outside. The property warmed up quickly after the central heating was switched on. We had just about everything we needed to cook our own meals. There are quite a few local pubs we could have visited to eat out including the Gower Inn across the road but we brought quite a bit of food with us and there were local shops to stock up. An ideal cottage for a short couple. Hide
