Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this impressive retreat in Gower. Set within a former Welsh water mill, this cottage sleeps six guests and two happy hounds looking to recharge and see more of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Open the door to this converted cottage and be greeted by sumptuous underfloor heating which instantly warms toes and paws in unison. Make your way up the stone spiral staircase and into one of two characterful lounges. Watch TV, play bar billiards or get immersed in a book in one, or alternatively, snuggle with your pooch in front of the wood burner in the other. Pull back the bi-folding doors and let the salty sea air in, while your pup spills out into the gated garden. Find everything you need to help prepare meals in the handy kitchen/diner, then call everyone over to the eight-seated table. Should you choose to book the use of the sunken hot tub, stew in the bubbles before joining the others in the cedar barrel sauna, or play games with your waggy-tailed pal on the artificial lawn until the night draws in. Rest your eyes in one of three bedrooms; two pretty bedrooms on the ground floor and one impressive king-size on the second-floor, with a luxurious en-suite to boot.
Grab the lead and dog treats and head out on walkies down to the sandy beach at Pobbles Bay (1 mile) or 1.5 miles to the spectacular surfing spot of Three Cliffs. Places to eat come in abundance at Mumbles (5 miles) and their world-renowned Welsh-Italian ice cream is well worth a lick. Shopping bags will be getting heavy after a full morning at Swansea city centre, where an indoor market, shopping centres, theatres and cinemas promise a lively day out.
