An exquisite country home enveloped by mature trees and situated within lush private grounds on the fringes of Gowerton. This luxurious hideaway is the ideal base for multigenerational family celebrations or long-overdue reunions with an honorary tufty-pawed member in tow. Capture a blustery family portrait against the rocky cliffs lining the sands of Mumbles Beach (8.5 miles), before scoffing a picnic spread and gearing up for tail-wagging lawn games in the lush garden.

This sophisticated property oozes traditional country elegance with a tastefully contemporary flair. Picture intricate cornicing, sleek neutral tones, antique furniture, and light-dappled social spaces. Pour a tipple and throw open the French doors in the elegant lounge to bask in the summer breeze while the younger ones slink away for puppy cuddles and board games in the cosy snug. Pad into the formal dining space with a magnificent bay window and adorn the dark wood table with a celebratory spread. Potter in the sleek kitchen/diner with a furry shadow by your feet. Perch at the breakfast table or congregate around the island for late-night nibbles. Hideaway in the study or freshen up any muddy outdoor gear in the utility room. Ascend the staircase to discover five beautifully appointed bedrooms in a range of configurations to suit the whole pack – each with plump pillows, crisp linens, and soft throws. Outside, flex your competitive muscle with a game of snooker, recline on the sun terrace, enjoy a restorative soak in the hot tub, or ball-chase on the grassy lawn.

Four-pawed history buffs will delight in scoping out the crumbling ruins of Loughor Castle (3 miles). Soak up the traditional charm with a visit to the bustling Gower Heritage Centre (7 miles) or hit up the cosmopolitan cocktail lounge in Swansea (6 miles) where cultured canines can order a sausage while the humans toast with a tipple.

The house is lovely and was plenty big enough for 7 adults, 2 children and a seluki. So altogether it was a very pleasant stay.

Very comfortable, well equipped house which was ideally located for our needs. We stayed for 4 nights and headed to the beaches on the south and west Gower each day. The weather was very kind to us and we were able to walk along the beaches and the Gower coast path. There were plenty of local pubs and restaurants for eating out. The property is excellent and exceeded our expectations , it was hired for a family mini holiday to celebrate an 80th birthday and a great time was had by every one there. Warm, welcoming and comfortable the only thing missing was better weather to enjoy the outdoor seating and garden areas.

After several emails and phone calls to your company throughout the week regarding our dissatisfactory stay at The Pines, I am emailing to make a formal complaint with the issues we experienced and the lack of resolution. I would like to mention that the bedding and towels were lovely, and we had plenty of hot water throughout the stay. CleRead moreaning - Poor cleaning throughout the property including dust and cobwebs, finding a pizza in the microwave on arrival, old/used coffee pods in the machine. Hot tub - information booklet states the hot tub should be cleaned x3/week. It was not cleaned during our stay. This is a significant health issue, and we now worry the hot tub was not cleaned prior to our stay between guests. Coffee machine - this broke towards the start of our stay and tripped a fuse. We were advised by the company to stand on a plastic bar stool to switch the trip back on. This is an entirely inappropriate suggestion, not knowing the make up or abilities of our group and not taking into account our health and safety. No coffee pods were provided as per the Information booklet. We did eventually receive a new coffee machine, however this was also faulty and leaked water. Dishwasher - this broke towards the start of our stay and was not fixed. Only x2 tea towels and a bathroom hand towel were provided by housekeeping at the start of the stay, and we only received additional materials to wash up with on Thursday after having to request these. We have spent countless hours of our holiday washing up, for 8 people minimum x3 per day. Fridge - faulty, freezing our food despite being at reasonable temperature. This is a food safety issue and subsequently we had to throw food away, we expect the approx cost of this to be at least 200 across the week - including raw and cooked meats, fish, cheeses, dips, milk, fruit/veg, yoghurts etc. A maintenance company attended on Thursday, the issue was not fixed. Games room - no heating, and therefore not usable at certain times of the day due to being so cold. We did not accept the box of chocolates sent by the company, as we quite frankly found this offensive given the amount of issues and lack of resolution we experienced. We have holidayed in self catering properties for many years, and unfortunately this experience has been very disappointing. Hide

A really beautiful house with wonderful decor and plenty of space. Good location for exploring the Gower. we went as a group of four couples and it was easily able to manage that number. We had a lovely stay at The Pines as part of some 80th birthday celebrations for my Dad. Such a beautiful house and gardens, so much space and very peaceful. A short drive from so many lovely places to visit too. Very relaxing and comfortable, would love to come back. Thanks for a great holiday venue.
