Escape to this charming and unique hideaway in the wild Scottish Borders. Unwind in the characterful open-plan living space with a warming wood burner, wooden beamed ceiling and exposed stone feature walls while looking out through the French doors into the garden and across the tranquil countryside. Spend your time away discovering castles, charming rural villages and exploring the nearby Northumberland National Park and visiting the coast.
The inside of this single-level cottage is stylish and thoughtfully designed, with a relaxing open-plan lounge/diner where you can spend quality time with your guests. A plump sofa and two armchairs sit around the TV and patio doors to one side of the room. On the other side is a wood burner and a dining table with seating for four. Continue into the simplistic kitchen, which is neutral-toned with a patterned floor and views of the fields. There is one family bathroom plus two bedrooms – a double and a twin. Outside is a sheltered south-facing patio with panoramic views, seating and a BBQ.
During your stay, the secluded location of this property will ensure a peaceful and relaxing getaway. In the summer months, the surrounding land is scattered with thousands of blooming sunflowers. Pop to the nearby market town of Kelso (3.5 miles) if you fancy dining out – it also has a lovely park, garden centre, 12th-century abbey, castle and riverside walks. The edge of Northumberland National Park is 16 miles away, where you can enjoy scenic walks with spectacular viewpoints. Or if you head towards the coast, go for a dip at the golden sandy Cocklawburn Beach (23 miles) which has no seasonal restrictions for your pup.
