We loved the cottage, and v much enjoyed out stay. The cottage was very clean and tidy, the kitchen well equipped, and the location superb. It would be useful for some people to know that the main bedroom has a very good ensuite with loo and bath, but although there is a shower attachment, there is no shower screen, so it's not really possible to uRead morese it for a standing shower. And for guests staying in the other half of the house, the toilet can only be accessed by going downstairs and walking through the house to the shower room by the back door. This didn't trouble us at all, but some guests might find it difficult in te middle of the night. Hide

Gill cottage is a very charming cottage and makes a perfect base for exploring East Devon. It also benefits from off-street parking which is unusual for the area. Whilst we loved the cottages charm and proximity to the pub, it does suffer from damp which has put us off booking it again. Nice cottage. Friendly pub next door. A bit cramped for 8 people but I think they have dropped occupancy to 6 which would be better. Nice rural location with plenty of walks and places a short drive away. Branscombe a nice walk on the coast path and over the fields.

Great cottage in a lovely remote part of Devon. 20/30 minute walk to the beach. Other beaches within a short drive. Small garden, not much space for children to play. Garden bench not very comfortable to sit for a long time and poor garden lighting. Space for parking.
