Get some sand between your toes (and paws) at this beachside chalet, a lovely bolthole for families and friends. Set in a peaceful hamlet on the North Norfolk coast, it’s ideal for long dog walks and is surrounded by fun things to do, from boating to puffing along on steam trains.
The fresh, coastal vibe of this chalet will certainly get you in the holiday mood, and its open-plan living area is a lovely spot for your group to gather. In the daytime, you can enjoy pretty views over the dunes, while at night, close the curtains and snuggle up in front of the TV. With the kitchen in one corner and the dining table adjacent in the other, this really is a sociable and inviting space. Three bedrooms complete the property: a double, a twin and a bunk bedroom, which all share a breezy bathroom. For safe playtimes, there’s an enclosed garden with a lawn and a decked area – perfect for the grown-ups to enjoy a sundowner or an al fresco meal. The property also features a useful shed for bike storage.
The chalet is located along a quiet, unmade road, backing onto the sand dunes of the quiet hamlet of North Gap. In this part of Norfolk the long, sandy beaches are often uncrowded, even in summer, and well worth exploring. You can reach Eccles-on-Sea in half a mile – a lovely sandy beach with no restrictions. Sea Palling is 2 miles and Happisburgh (pronounced ‘haze-bruh’), is 4 miles. If you fancy a change, however, you could head inland to Stalham, 4.5 miles, where you can hire a day boat for a cruise around the beautiful Norfolk Broads, or jump on a vintage train at Wroxham, 11.5 miles, for a trip to the historic market town of Aylsham.
