Pack your hiking boots and dog beds for a special Snowdonia escape at a charming three-storey cottage in the market town of Dolgellau. Spend your time away surrounded by nature and natural beauty on long scenic dog walks around lakes, to the top of craggy mountain peaks and along the coast. This cosy and homely property is ideally located in the centre of the town, with an array of shops and restaurants on the doorstep.
Step inside to find a bright and modern kitchen, with sparkling surface tops, slate flooring and a small breakfast table. Continue into the lounge/diner, which is illuminated by the contemporary hanging lighting and the gentle glow of the wood burner effect electric fire. Put your feet up on the large L-shaped sofa in front of the TV before enjoying a meal at the dining table. Climb the first set of stairs to reach a family bathroom, toddler room and a king-size bedroom. On the second floor is a quiet landing with an armchair and two bedrooms – a single with a daybed which can be converted into a double plus another single room. Outside is an intimate enclosed patio with furniture.
Wake up and start your day with a pastry and coffee from one of the local bakeries (less than 0.5 miles) and treat yourself to a night off from cooking and dine out at one of the canine-welcoming pubs or restaurants (within 0.5 miles). Nearby hiking areas include Precipice Walk (3 miles), with a lake and viewpoints, and Torrent Walk (2.5 miles), with waterfalls and woodland. The dramatic mountain peak of Penygader, at the top of Cadair Idris, is 7.5 miles away. Head to Traeth Abermaw Beach (9 miles) for a dip in the sea with Fido.
