This charming, terraced cottage is just 350 metres from the coast at Port Mulgrave and makes the perfect retreat for friends or family wanting to explore the coastline. It’s in the North York Moors with miles of footpaths to enjoy. The cottage has ample room, set over three floors, with an enclosed rear garden and unusually it welcomes up to three furry family members.
The interiors have been thoughtfully designed throughout and you’ll find a mix of quirky furniture and fittings, and original features. The kitchen is bold and bright, it has a double oven and there’s also a handy utility room. The lounge, with a gorgeous wood burner in the brick fireplace and plenty of space to kick back and enjoy watching TV or playing a game together, completes the ground floor. Up on the first floor are the two double bedrooms and the gorgeous, tiled bathroom with a shower and bath. The third bedroom, a twin with its own TV, is on the second floor.
Pop out of the cottage and walk the 350 metres to the village’s harbour and beach – take care on the climb down to the beach. It’s worth the effort as it’s perfect for rock pooling and fossil hunting. Take your four-legged friends on a 4-mile circular walk along the Cleveland Way to Staithes, then walk back through fields and woodland via the hamlet of Dalehouse. Port Mulgrave is on the edge of the North York Moors where there are many beautiful walks. Visit Whitby, 9.5 miles away, for a day out to see the ruins of the gothic abbey that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, be amazed by Whitby Museum’s quirky collections, and don’t forget to treat yourselves to the essential fish and chips and ice cream!
