Located in an idyllic rural spot in the heart of the Lake District National Park, this quintessential Lakeland cottage is a dream for nature-loving humans and dogs. It’s got an elevated landscaped garden offering breathtaking views over the glorious surrounding wilderness, which you can spend hours exploring on foot with your close ones and pets. There’s room for up to five guests over three rooms, so is just right for a small family or group of friends, and three furry friends are welcome to come along for the ride.
The inside of the property has a homely and rustic feel, with low ceilings, wooden beams, slate floors and stable-style doors. You can prepare delicious meals in the contemporary kitchen, which has lovely granite surfaces, then enjoy them together in the dining room-lounge. There’s a wood burner for getting toasty on chilly nights – the dogs will love stretching out to absorb the cosy heat. The three bedrooms – one downstairs and two upstairs – feature wrought-iron or wooden beds that contribute to the charming traditional atmosphere, as do the warm colour schemes.
You’ll be within the hamlet of Little Langdale, less than 0.5 miles from a dog-friendly pub and with wonderful hikes starting from your front door. Explore the stunning Langdale Valley and nearby area with the pups of the party leading the way. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not head up Scafell Pike (9 miles), the highest peak in England? There are plenty of lowland walks on offer too, such as trekking around the multitude of lakes, for example Coniston Water (4.5 miles) or the gorgeous Windermere (5 miles) – your pets will go mutts for all the new smells!
