Set in a pretty seaside village, this Welsh retreat is ideal for three guests and a four-legged friend. Explore stretches of the coastal path or beautiful pockets of sandy shorelines before taking some much-needed time out at this charming cottage.
Hang up coats, dog leads, and beach towels in the spacious porch before heading into this delightful property. A comfortable lounge with beamed ceilings has plenty of seating and a feature fireplace that is perfect for the dog to curl up in front of and keep their paws warm. Cook hearty breakfasts, prepare picnic lunches, and rustle up delicious dinners in the well-appointed kitchen. When you are ready for bed, rest your head in the king-size bedroom upstairs, or snuggle down on the sofa bed in the second bedroom. A contemporary bathroom completes the interior of the accommodation. Outside, your canine companion can explore the tranquil enclosed courtyard garden, as you unwind with your favourite drink in the evening sunshine – but keep one eye open as the gate is low and the raised rockery may enable a determined pup to make a getaway.
The lovely village of Danygraig is set just outside of the town of Porthcawl (1 mile) and has handy amenities including a shop and some dog-friendly pubs (200 metres). There are several beaches in the area, all of which welcome dogs in the winter, but for summer seaside fun, lead the way to the stunning Newton Beach (0.5 miles) and leave your pawprints in the sand. Go mutts on the Wales Coast Path (0.5 miles) and soak up superb, far-reaching sea views along this long-distance route. For a change of scenery, visit the remarkable Kenfig National Nature Reserve (3.5 miles) where your furry friend can go for a dip, or run wild and free on the dunes.
