See how many types of bird you can spot as you enjoy your morning cuppa in the window seat of this comfortable apartment. It’s perfect for couples or families wanting a comfortable retreat in this very special part of Northumberland.
This tranquil apartment is set over three floors of an 18th century former mill. On the ground floor you’ll find a handy cloakroom/WC with space for coats, boots and leads, plus a welcoming lounge with leather sofas and a wall-mounted, flame-effect electric fire. Here you can play games on the Wii and watch TV while your furry friends snooze at your feet. On the first floor the galley kitchen is open plan to a dining area and a second seating area with a sofa and TV. Its window seat makes a cosy perch, with fabulous sea views. On the second level you’ll find the two bedrooms – a double with a TV (and more gorgeous sea views) and a spacious twin, sharing a shower room. Completing the picture of this appealing destination is the shared garden that has picnic tables scattered around the lawn.
The hamlet of Waren Mill is set within the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and looks over the important bird sanctuary of Budle Bay. Its beach offers a variety of water sports as well as the chance for energetic zoomies. The 2.5 mile coastal walk to Bamburgh is said to be the most spectacular in the UK. For a great day out explore the town’s shops and places to eat and wander round the grounds of its magnificent Norman castle. Keep going and you’ll reach Seahouses, 6 miles, with its enormous beach and pet-friendly pubs. From here you can also book a boat trip (April to October) to see the extraordinary wildlife of the Farne Islands.
