This single-storey gem sits within 1 mile of Beadnell, a picturesque coastal village home to the only west-facing harbour on the east coast of England. Large groups seeking modern creature comforts will find them in abundance here, with spacious bedrooms, a kitchen boasting underfloor heating and a large enclosed garden for playful dogs and children all on offer.

The bungalow has a fresh and modern feel, its tastefully-furnished rooms enriched by plenty of natural light. Head to the open-plan living room/diner for cold summer refreshments following a light lunch, or fortifying winter suppers after bracing dog walks; whatever the weather, the kitchen’s large skylight adds a different dimension to food preparation, especially when the underfloor heating is on. The bungalow’s three bedrooms - a quirky en-suite king-size bedroom, two double bedrooms and a bunk room - are inviting places to lay your head, with a rustic family bathroom close by. The bungalow has a pretty lawned front garden and there is tonnes of room for games and BBQs in the enclosed south-facing garden, which is split between a patio and lawned area. As an added bonus, Beadnell Bay is just a short waddle through the dunes that kiss the garden gate.

Beadnell Bay (1 mile) offers a variety of water sports, with the village’s pubs, cafes and shops set in and around its attractive west-facing harbour. Seahouses (2.5 miles) has a bustling harbour of its own, along with a dog-friendly beach that stretches to the astonishing fortifications and grounds of Bamburgh Castle (6 miles) at low tide.

Lovely property and really comfortable. Fantastic location - our dogs loved the garden. Access to the beach from the garden was great and just a few metres over the dunes from the garden. Beadnell is a lovely village with easy footpath to the Craster Arms.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sandycott! We had to rearrange our cottage booking as our previous choice became unavailable, Sandycott was suggested by the booking agents, and turned out to be a much better choice! A quiet location, with ample room to park, and a lovely big garden with plenty of room for two daft black labs to run off what steam Read morethey had left after their days on the beach. Access to the dunes and beach via the garden would have been challenging, but it was such a short walk to the (magnificent) beach from the house that it not a problem. We had hoped to have access to the sun room, sadly this was not possible, but as we were very lucky with the weather we were able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the sunshine at the end of the day. The sitting room is a lovely, airy space, with comfy sofas and chairs, the bedrooms were comfortable and we all slept well too. In short, a fabulous stay - we were very sad to leave and would return to Sandycott in a heartbeat, and indeed hope to next year! Hide

Same comments from reviews in 2023/2024. It's in dire need of refurbishment, looks very tired. Cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, had to empty previous guests vegetables (rotting) and half drunk bottle of water from fridge, then had to clean out both fridge and freezer before using. Work surfaces in the kitchen had to be washed down before useRead more. Out of date food removed from cupboards and discarded. Owner contacted about the above observations, also messaged about a leak on the main bathroom sink which covered the floor in water rendering this unusable, he replied that he had contacted a plumber, no one came. Hence 7 people using the ensuite bathroom. Door between the living room and bedrooms slams shut every time it's opened due to the door closer and also blocks the bedroom doorway. Hot water set at a very high temperature which isn't good for children. Blocked off the access to the sun room as this was easily accessible for children. Beach access through the rear gate is not accessible as overrun with nettles. Hide

The cottage is in a lovely location. Our stay was complicated by being unable to use the front door, and having to keep our large dog on a lead due to two low sections of fence. These issues can hopefully be rectified for future guests.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. It's perfect for a peaceful beach stay. The cottage would benefit from some TLC & updating, although it didn't deter us from enjoying our stay. A word of warning - the hot water is hotter than the surface of the sun so becareful.
