Easy-going, open-plan living is the name of the game in this welcoming and well-equipped cottage, ideal for couples or small families. Explore Bamburgh and the surrounding area, or spend time on site exercising, playing games or lounging in the hot tub while your pups play in the garden.
Renovated to a high standard, this converted hayloft has accommodation on the first floor, reached via a flight of rustic, outdoor steps. The living space is open plan, with a dining area for four set beside a spacious kitchen that’s equipped with everything you’ll need for delicious holiday meals. After supper, relax in front of the wood burner in the adjacent lounge, perhaps playing games, reading or planning tomorrow’s excursions. At bedtime you have a choice of two double rooms, one with a TV and the other with a smaller 4’ bed, sharing a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The furnished courtyard outside, shared with guests at neighbouring properties, has a BBQ for grilling up al fresco meals, and other shared facilities include a paddock area where energetic canines can let off steam, plus a tennis court, gym, games room and hot tub.
The lovely coastal town of Bamburgh is 1.5 miles away, where a walk on the beach (dog friendly all year) or perhaps surfing the excellent waves could be followed by a wander around the grounds of the majestic castle that stands guard over the town. Round off your excursion with a bite to eat in one of Bamburgh’s variety of tea rooms, cafes or pubs. For an interesting day out head to Lindisfarne, 12.5 miles, and cross the causeway (checking tide times carefully first) to Holy Island. Dogs are welcome inside the priory, and walkies in the area are fabulous.
