Property code: OC-GD1358

This light and bright cottage, laid out over a single floor, can accommodate up to four people and two dogs. It’s a great home from home for a small family or couples looking to get away from it all, close to the Northumberland coastline. Inside, the property has been neutrally decorated throughout with a few quirkier finishing touches to give it character.

A lovely open-plan kitchen/living/dining area creates the heart of this wonderful holiday let. The lounge section has comfortable seating and a TV for movie nights or chilling out. There is also a selection of board games and books here too for other forms of entertainment. The kitchen has everything you need to cater while on holiday – including a coffee machine for your morning caffeine hit. The dining table has space for four at sociable meal times, with any guest dogs inevitably circling for leftovers. The two bedrooms are a twin and a super-king-size. Both can use the wet room with a walk-in shower and underfloor heating. Outside, there’s a courtyard with a picnic table and a BBQ for al fresco meals.

When you’re looking to explore outside the cottage, you’ll find that Bamburgh is a wonderful village to spend a day or two in. The village itself has many eateries and shops – often very happy to welcome dogs – while its beach is a long stretch of sand with dunes. The castle, though, is one of its most memorable aspects and the drive there is just under 5 miles.

We had a lovely stay. Very comfortable cottage. Particularly liked the under floor heating in the shower room! Very cosy. We weren't so keen on the wet room aspect of the shower room but once we worked out how to manage it we didn't have a problem. Great location for exploring the best of the area.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful part of the world. The cottage is incredibly comfortable and well equipped, and very thoughtful additions. Particular highlights were the music speaker; and the games box/ books. Kids absolutely loved playing Cluedo and monopoly. Highlights of our trip were a visit to Bamburgh for sausage sarnies, a spooky visit toRead more Chillingham castle, and a trip to Lindisfarne. We would love to come back Hide

Warm, comfortable and inviting cottage. Well located for many sites of interest in Northumberland eg Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh castle.

Comfortable cottage in a good location for visiting this lovely area. Good internet and a broad range of stations on Sky TV. Well equipped kitchen. A few problems which took holiday cottages far too long to deal with. Be aware there is no garden, and that the courtyard is shared with other holiday cottages in the complex.

Disappointing. Flooded bathroom, not as clean as it should be, and the BBQ area inaccessible to wheelchair users. If these problems were sorted out, I would be happy to recommend. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we have discussed with the owner and resolved the issues.

Really well positioned. Easy access to Lucker, Seahouses, Bamburgh and Alnwick. Ideal for peaceful location. Possibly better signage on arrival. After speaking with other holiday makers we soon learned we werent the only people to have driven past and had to ask for directions.
