Property code: OC-P00807

A charming traditional cottage, located close to the waterfront in picturesque Padstow and sleeping six guests, plus one canine companion, makes an ideal holiday home for families or friends. The stylishly furnished terraced property offers a gorgeous rooftop view of the Camel estuary from the master bedroom and an enclosed, south-facing garden with miles of idyllic, sandy beaches on the doorstep for you and your pup to explore.

Set in a quiet street, the cottage’s light and bright interior reflects Padstow’s long history as a busy fishing port, with a colour palette of marine blues and vibrant Cornish glass art works decorating white walls. The spacious open-plan living area includes comfortable sofas, a kitchen with an Aga, and a cosy napping spot reserved for your faithful pet. Stairs lead to two delightful bedrooms: an all-white double and a bunk bedroom. Children will love the custom-made steps to their bed and a fun shark chair. The second floor houses a beautiful king-size bedroom with an estuary view. Outside, a paved terrace with garden furniture and BBQ leads to the artificial lawn.

Take a half-mile stroll along Padstow’s quaint streets to the bustling harbour, with its colourful fishing boats. From here, you can jump aboard one of several dog-friendly boat trips, including a voyage along the spectacular North Cornwall coastline on the veteran Jubilee Queen. Your furry friend can revel in golden sand and surf on glorious Daymer Beach (2 miles) and Harlyn Bay (6 miles), both dog friendly all year round. There are wonderful walks along the South West Coast Path and you can hire a bike with a dog trailer for a senior member of your pack, to enjoy splendid estuary and countryside views along the Camel Trail.

I loved the cottage and loved the location. It has been furnished to a very high standard and looks stunning and very well equipped. The garden was fabulous for the dogs and having the fake grass was a life saver for stopping muddy dog paws trampling into the house. We weren't able to use the outdoor seating area because it was too cold but I can iRead moremagine in the summer this would be a perfect place to spend your evenings. Hide

Jwala is a lovely house finished to a high standard. Great location just a short walk to the harbour. Very comfortable beds and the view from the master bedroom is fantastic. The kitchen is very well equipped and the aga was a bonus! Lovely enclosed garden which was great for our dog. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Nicely decorated house in a superb location. Great outside space and very peaceful and relaxing. Would book again without a doubt. The Pros and Cons. First the positives. Location is excellent, very short walk into the harbour. Very well furnished and well appointed bathroom. Good quality smart TVs (with excellent reception) in every room. SpacioRead moreus and more than adequate for a large family with a dog. We were two with small dog so ample space. Secondly, things anyone booking needs to consider. (Not negative, but important to consider when making your choice). Whilst the dormer bedroom is the best in the house there are no blinds. Take an eye mask (or order one on Amazon Prime which can be delivered to the Post Office down the road for 9.99 the following day). A bit of privacy would be nice for that room. Public Parking is not close. Not an issue if you like walking but not great if you need the car and its raining, (rains a lot in Cornwall) Property is not suitable for older or people with restricted ability. Sofas are not good and stairs are steep and slippy. If you can cook with an Electric Aga great, if not, book lots of places to eat out. We took food for the week but gave up after ruining the first two meals. Not an issue eating out in Feb as most places have availability but will be difficult in the summer months (no microwave). Balancing the heating is very difficult. Downstairs is cold but once you turn up the thermostat upstairs becomes unbearably hot. Again, wont be a problem in the summer, but one to consider in the colder months. Hopefully these comments will help you prepare for your visit but rest assured, taking those into account you wont be disappointed with your stay. Hide

Jwala is perfectly situated, and a beautiful home away from home. It is very well equipped for a family holiday. The garden is lovely and a great spot to eat out after a day on the outstanding beaches only a short drive away. The view from the master bedroom is amazing and a great spot to watch the estuary come in and out. A real find xxx
