A rustic stonework cottage situated in the peaceful village of Carperby in the idyllic Yorkshire Dales, this stylish rural retreat is perfect for a family or group of friends holidaying with a couple of faithful companions. Bound and sniff along the woodland trails to glimpse the impressive cascading water of Aysgarth Falls (1 mile), before settling in for a warm drink in front of the crackling wood burner.

This charming property features a considered country interior with weathered wooden textures, earthy neutral tones, and bright social areas. Dry off soggy paws with a fluffy towel in the hallway then pad through to the lounge where you can tend to the fire, kick up your feet, and unwind with a movie on the Smart TV. Stash your locally sourced goodies in the shaker kitchen with sleek gold fixtures and wooden floating shelves, then sharpen the knives and whip up a hearty feast for the hungry pack. Assist the resident bartender in whipping up some celebratory cocktails and then wine and dine around the table while you plan out the perfect Yorkshire itinerary. Retire upstairs to the three elegantly styled bedrooms consisting of a king-size, a twin, and a single. A leafy garden with plants and shrubbery is accessed through the stable door from the diner, where Fido can roam while you perch under the pergola for an al fresco breakfast.

Explore the quirky shops and dog-friendly eateries in the market town of Leyburn, 8 miles, then venture to the sprawling grounds of Middleham Castle, 9 miles, where cultured canines can sniff and explore the ancient ruins of Richard III’s childhood home. The property was lovely and had everything you needed .The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. The garden was fully enclosed which was very good for our two french bulls. The village pub was in walking distance and the food and drink was exceptional. We would definitely return.

The property only had one toilet which proved difficult to manage with a whole family. I recommend you install a downstairs toilet (even a small one) which would help a lot. Also, parking was not good. For future guests, please provide instructions of how to set the heating. The website info did not mention that the property had a washer/dryer. ThiRead mores was great but it would have helped prior to hiring as we were on a long trip and did most of our washing (inconveniently and at great expense) prior to taking the cottage. If we had of known about the washer/dryer, it would have helped us a lot. Other than that, the cottage was great. Thank you! Hide
