This charming garden apartment is located in the pretty valley of Porthcurno on the south coast of Cornwall. Close to the beach and with coastal walks straight from the door, this is the place to come if you and your family and four-pawed pal want long walks and outdoor adventures.

Brilliant nautical tones sweep through this three-bedroom, ground-floor apartment creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. The open-plan living area with its beautiful bay window invites sociability and at the end of the day, you’ll want to sink into one of the plump sofas while Fido stretches out in front of the wood burner. A large dining table overlooks the lounge so you can play board games, plan your day’s agenda or enjoy a meal while admiring the countryside views. For more casual meals, step through to the white-panelled kitchen and eat at the neat table. When it’s time to retire, choose between a super-king bed, an en-suite double, and a twin bedroom. All the bedrooms are pleasantly furnished, and the super-king has the bonus of French doors leading out to the garden. In the morning, push open the French doors and enjoy a coffee on the patio table while keeping an eye on Fido as he runs free on the expansive lawn.

For a walk on some sandy shores, it’s a short 0.5-mile walk to Porthcurno Beach where your four-legged friend can frolic in the waves (although restrictions apply from July to August). Afterwards, enjoy a light snack at the dog-friendly beach cafe. But to really get tails wagging, take your pup for an energetic 3-mile walk along the South West Coast Path to Land’s End. Other dog-friendly attractions to sniff out include the sub-tropical gardens at the Minack Theatre (300 metres) and the PK Porthcurno Museum of Global Communications (0.5 miles).

We really enjoyed out stay at Sundowner. It provided everything we needed in a lovely setting We would return again.

The property is well sited for the Minack Theatre, which was the purpose of our visit. The main bedroom, bathroom and living area are very comfortable - the other double and ensuite much less so. Disappointed with the property given the price. Hot water pressure in kitchen needs attending to, washing machine noisy, dirty 'head' marks over bed (gross), THREE dirty frying pans in cupboard with burnt on food residue need replacing, horrible strong cleaner used in fridge/freezer which was also used in cupboards and the kitchen waste bin, hallwRead moreay plug socket not working, not enough hot water for full bath. Apart from that, not a bad holiday. Good location, very spacious. Would not return and would not recommend. Hide
