Ideal for couples or a family, this vibrant and welcoming cottage can also accommodate up to five (yes, five!) canine companions. It’s close to the heart of Kendal, and the river and parks are nearby, too – perfect for your furry friends to stretch their legs.
This terraced Lakeland-stone cottage has a bright, contemporary interior that complements its traditional beams and sash windows. Hang your leads on the dedicated hooks and step into the open-plan lounge, which has comfortable seating for four and a dining table at one end. Take two steps down to the adjacent kitchen, which is equipped with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and all the equipment you’ll need to create delicious meals during your holiday. The two comfortable bedrooms are upstairs, a double and a king-size (twin on request), sharing a sleek family bathroom.
The cottage is just steps from the bustling centre of historic Kendal, and its position close to the river and within 100 metres of three parks makes it ideal for easy walks with your four-pawed friends. Enjoy exploring the mostly pedestrianised streets of the town, where there’s a great choice of shops, a twice-weekly market and a variety of places to eat and drink (many of them dog friendly). For a great picnic or a romantic walk, join the trail (50 metres from the cottage) up to Kendal Castle, a 12th century ruin on top of a hill, or jump in the car and venture 5 miles to the National Trust’s 1,600-acre estate at Sizergh, where there are miles and miles of paths and woodlands to explore.
