Ideal for couples or a family, this vibrant and welcoming cottage can also accommodate up to five (yes, five!) canine companions. It’s close to the heart of Kendal, and the river and parks are nearby, too – perfect for your furry friends to stretch their legs.

This terraced Lakeland-stone cottage has a bright, contemporary interior that complements its traditional beams and sash windows. Hang your leads on the dedicated hooks and step into the open-plan lounge, which has comfortable seating for four and a dining table at one end. Take two steps down to the adjacent kitchen, which is equipped with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and all the equipment you’ll need to create delicious meals during your holiday. The two comfortable bedrooms are upstairs, a double and a king-size (twin on request), sharing a sleek family bathroom.

The cottage is just steps from the bustling centre of historic Kendal, and its position close to the river and within 100 metres of three parks makes it ideal for easy walks with your four-pawed friends. Enjoy exploring the mostly pedestrianised streets of the town, where there’s a great choice of shops, a twice-weekly market and a variety of places to eat and drink (many of them dog friendly). For a great picnic or a romantic walk, join the trail (50 metres from the cottage) up to Kendal Castle, a 12th century ruin on top of a hill, or jump in the car and venture 5 miles to the National Trust’s 1,600-acre estate at Sizergh, where there are miles and miles of paths and woodlands to explore.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 double, 1 king-size/twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC
  • Oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer
  • TV
  • Private parking for 1 car, the cottage is conveniently located close to a main road and is easily accessible by car
  • Pub 0.1 miles, shop 0.2 miles, beach 7 miles
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 5 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Greyhound cottage is fine and comfortable for an affordable town location in the Lakes. Wed probably consider staying there again in the future if we went up there again Thanks!

Lovely cottage. Ideal location for the town. Comfortable sofa and mattresses. Pillows could be improved but appreciate this a very individual subjective thing. Tv appeared to have a patchy appearance to it. Given the limited space maybe some trays to eat off of. A second/third baby gate for the stairs up stairs

The cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Its location is perfect for visiting neighbouring towns (Windermere,Grasmere, Ambleside)or exploring plenty right on your doorstep. Due to the very wet weather we didnt go much further but there is plenty to see and do in each of these towns. Recommendations of places tRead moreo eat in Kendal were the Shakespeare pub, the fleece inn pub, and Marra was a quaint little space too - best pizza!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we would all (including the dogs) highly recommend this cottage. Hide
