With one bedroom, accommodating two people and their dog, this apartment, close to the North Devon coast, is a fantastic romantic bolthole. With spectacular sea views from many of the property’s windows, the apartment is close to some of Devon’s most magnificent walks - perfect for ramblers with dogs that love to stretch their legs.
Walk up the external stairs to the apartment and enter into a large porch with storage for coats and shoes, perfect for towelling down dogs after their coastal adventures. From here, enter the open plan lounge/diner and be dazzled by the sea and coastal views. Whip up tasty holiday meals in the compact kitchen. Wake up in the morning to beautiful views from the super-king-size bedroom too, this time towards the village and surrounding countryside. Outside, enjoy tucking into al fresco meals on the private patio with table and benches as you gaze out at the sea.
This ideal couple’s retreat has a lot going for it in terms of location. As can be seen from the apartment, Woolacombe Bay is close by (0.5 miles), so trips there and to Lundy Island from Ilfracombe (5 miles) in the summer are possible. Much of the coastline here is looked after by the National Trust, while the village of Mortehoe offers its guests dog-friendly pubs in addition to a village shop providing everything they should need for their stay. Particular walks of note would be the 6-mile route from the village car park to Morte Point and then Bull Point. It takes in views of cliffs, rocky headlands and sandy bays. For the nature lovers, there’s a chance to spot seals, birds and other wildlife.
