A colourful country cottage surrounded by rolling green countryside in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, this homely hideaway is the perfect retreat for outdoorsy families and groups of friends with a tufty-pawed pal in tow. Get tails wagging as you bound along dense forest paths and wooded gorges to the tumbling waters of the Ashgill Force waterfall, then stretch out weary paws by the wood burner for a well-earned snooze.

This vibrant property boasts a sleek interior with traditional flagstone flooring, plush soft furnishings, and cheerful shades of colour. Kick off muddy shoes and unclip harnesses at the door and then rest up in the inviting lounge where you can sip a warm drink and tuck into some nibbles in front of the crackling wood burner. Potter in the charming farmhouse kitchen and treat your hungry hound to his supper before pouring some drinks and indulging in a celebratory meal gathered around the wooden dining table. Make your way upstairs to the sleeping areas, consisting of an airy single and a spacious king-size room, or ascend a steep cottage-style staircase to the twin room styled in earthy tones. Perch on the outdoor bench and drink in the sweeping vistas from the grassy garden while Fido sniffs and explores or get lunch sizzling on the BBQ.

Great location. Some great views. Airy, tall ceilings. Good use of space. Well equipped. The carpets were a little grungy and the throw blankets had seen better days. The shower was very tricky as the curtain was too short. Workable once you got the hang of it. We'd go back.

A very pleasant cottage, well situated and comfortable. Parking could have been a problem but for a kindly neighbour. Market Place was full of motorbikes over the weekend. Stairs to loft room and height of bath/shower could be a problem for elderly or infirm.

The cottage is rather unloved . It is not light and bright in the kitchen and the lighting to try and cook with is very poor with various little lamps around the room. It is not very well equipped either, and the advertised smart speaker wasn't there. Great location in Hawes though with lovely walks on the doorstep.

We had a lovely holiday on Rose cottage. The beds are comfortable and the water for a shower or bath was super hot. It is very well located for both the town and everything it has to offer and there is a nice walk down to the river sure right outside the back door .

Only 2 toilet rolls for 5 adults for a long weekend was just mean. No soap. No tea towel. Salt & pepper were empty. No coal or wood for the fire. These things matter & leave a poor impression when paying hundreds for a weekend away with family

Great location and loverly neighbour the cottage itself is in need of some maintenance paint etc and some cupboard doors are damaged really would benefit from more cupboard space in general if a family is using it. Loft bedroom has very steep stairs to it and a beam at the top that you easily bang your head on I would not recommend that room for anRead more elderly person or anyone with mobility problems. The floor in the kitchen is laid with large stone and is quite uneven and provides a trip hazard especially around the hob area which is quite dangerous. There is a large open drain outside that needs a cover. The fantastic views from the rear of the cottage would benefit from somewhere decent to sit to view them and there is no decent outside furniture except a rotting bench. Despite the above we had a great stay and the improvements would only enhance the lovely location Hide

Great location within Hawes. Views nice out of most windows. No proper outside space/seating for a meal. A little worn/utilitarian decor wise, but rooms are a good size. Not a cottage for anyone with movement issues as third floor stairs are very steep and the beam is tricky, and you have to climb into a high top bath to have a shower.
