  • Wood burner and a piano for cosy and intimate nights in
  • Dine in the conservatory or in the pretty courtyard

Property code: OC-414296

Let sleeping dogs lie in front of the cosy wood burner and play in the enclosed courtyard garden at this rural retreat while you unplug and unwind. Sitting on a quiet lane in the village of Lowick, the cottage has beautiful country views and is perfectly placed for exploring the Northumberland coastline with friends or family along with your canine companions.

Step into the comfortable and inviting interior, where you’ll find space to leave leads and wet outdoor gear in the porch. Have a sing-along at the piano in the living room and chill on the comfy sofas as the dogs doze in front of the wood burner. Cook up tasty treats in the kitchen to enjoy in the dining room conservatory, where you can throw open the French doors on a warm day. The two bedrooms are on the ground floor, a king with views across the fields and a double overlooking the courtyard, as is the shower room. Up a steep narrow staircase is an attic room perfect for reading or playing guitar, plus a low double bed children can use. Outside, fire up the BBQ and dine al fresco, there’s also storage for your outdoor gear and bikes, and being fully walled the furries can potter around freely.

Head to Berwick for a fun day out, it’s home to military museums, castle ruins, an art gallery, theatre, cinema, and a lighthouse. Animal lovers will enjoy the Birds of Prey Centre (4.5 miles away) at Haggerston Castle where you can get up close and personal with the residents. Go for walkies on one of the nearby beaches, there are five in Berwick alone. A boat trip to Holy Island (also known as Lindisfarne) is a must during your stay (9 miles), salty sea dogs are welcome aboard.

We had an excellent, comfortable and enjoyable holiday in a very lovely cottage, we would go for longer in future as it is so far for us to travel.

Overall very happy with the property. The location meant driving everywhere but it was very quiet and peaceful, the village was lovely, very friendly people and the pubs both serve good food. The upstairs TV only got one channel so a better aerial would help. Bit disappointed that the bins didn't seem to have emptied for a while and smelled badly bRead moreut sure this was just an oversight or a bin collector's strike! Hide
