Watch soft, furry ears prick up when you leave this appealing Northumberland cottage for yet another coastal walk. Situated in North Sunderland, just 1 mile from the beach at Seahouses, it makes an excellent base for a family or party of friends wishing to holiday with their four-legged friend. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat has a spacious courtyard garden when you and your contented canine can bask in the sunshine on summer afternoons.
Open the front door and follow your pal’s wagging tail into the porch. Dry paws, leave beach gear and hang dog leads here before heading on through to the open-plan kitchen/diner. Unpack any fresh provisions, feed your favourite furry friend and pop dinner for everyone else into the oven. Open the double doors into the lounge to watch the TV or listen to music, while your canine companion dozes. Call every to the table in the dining area, which adjoins the utility room. There is also a handy cloakroom downstairs. At the end of each fun-filled day, climb the stairs to lay your head in one of the three super-king-size bedrooms. Each of these has a TV and can be made up as a twin if discussed at booking. One also has an en-suite shower room and there is a family bathroom. Have breakfast out in the fresh air of the courtyard on warm days, while your pal pads about, eagerly awaiting his excursion. There is parking here for two cars.
Let your chum run free at any time of year on the open sands of the beach at Seahouses. Take him on a dog-friendly boat trip out from the harbour. Venture 16 miles to the causeway over to Lindisfarne and stretch furry legs with a walk over to the Island when the tide is out.
