Head to the seaside and stay in this beautiful seashell cottage. It’s the perfect getaway for two couples and one canine companion: a carefully renovated building just outside Dartmouth, offering places to explore, learn and enjoy.
As you approach the property, look out for the seashell-studded facade. It’s whimsical and is the first of the delightful quirks you’ll find. Downstairs is a living space, incorporating a kitchen, dining area and a lounge with a wood burner. It’s the ideal place to eat, socialise and plan your days in the area. Continue to the first floor for the bathroom and the double bedroom. You’ll find the king-size bedroom on the second floor. Both are bright and airy, and the top bedroom also has exposed beams to nod to the renovation. It’s the ideal place for relaxing, unwinding and spending quality time with your partner. This property does not have a garden, but you’re 0.5 miles from a park so you can let your dog sniff around or enjoy a picnic on the grass.
The centre of Dartmouth is about 500 metres away, and here you’ll find pubs, cafes and local shops which welcome all visitors. Because of the location, you’ll have easy access to the rugged beauty of Dartmoor (15 miles), the shores of the River Dart (500 metres) and the dog-friendly Sugary Cove Beach (1.5 miles). There are lots of other beaches nearby, and you could easily visit a different one each afternoon – paddling, playing fetch and sunbathing as you like. Any history enthusiasts should look up Dartmouth Castle (1.5 miles, next to Sugary Cove Beach) for lots of interesting maritime stories.
