The cottage is not easily accessible. Parking is terrible and the walk into Porthleven is down quite a steep hill. The cottage itself was very nice, very clean and well maintained it is also well equipped theres just not a lot of room but it is an old fishermans cottage so that is to be expected. The stairs are quite steep and narrow so it was a stRead moreruggle with suitcases. Its quite well equipped but we didnt do much cooking. The garden has furniture but its also quite small. We could see the sea and we could hear it during the night which was nice. I wouldnt recommend the cottage for people with disabilities or elderly people and families would have to decide about the size of the property. The beach was really nice but also not easily accessible and I love the town of Porthleven. All in all we had a lovely time. Hide

This cottage is in a superb location and is well kitted out and well appointed. It is only a couple of steps from the beach, the beds are comfortable and the furniture is nice. A bit musty when you open the kitchen cupboards but all the cottages I have stayed in that area are the same. We enjoyed our stay and having somewhere nice to go back to Read morehelped. Hide

Lovely cottage, well equipped and beautifully decorated and the location is great particularly if you love watching the waves which I really enjoyed doing first thing in the morning with a cup of tea sat outside. The walk down into Porthleven is lovely, only about 10 minutes. This was our 2nd year staying here and would definitely recommend. The cottage is nice and well located for the beach, harbour and exploring the area. Bedrooms are very comfortable and parking was not an issue. Something i wanted to mention and may impact some peoples holiday, is the musty smell in the cottage. The local agent supplied us with reed diffusers and a de-humidifier which made a difference.

Lovely holiday home, plenty of space for my family of 4. Nice location to Porthleven harbour and a great base within Cornwall to go exploring. Even thought there is no set parking at the property, we never had any issues parking round the back of the house on the street.

The cottage could be lovely - and it is well situated and well equipped/upholstered downstairs. Upstairs the two single bedrooms are not that comfortable - no hanging space , no bedside cabinets / lamps so not very cosy. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom - very disconcerting to be in the shower at street level across from a window that has no bRead morelind / curtain. The main problem though is the stench in the cottage. It was incredibly bad. So much so we had to sit with the door propped open and windows open). It was palpable and hurt my throat. There was evidence of mould - but the main issue is that the cottage is set into the roadside so damp has clearly penetrated the walls. Opening the kitchen cupboards made us not wanting to store food on there / eat off the plates. We spent as much time as could outside of the cottage. Not the relaxing holiday we had hoped for . For my asthmatic husband it was even worse - causing him to constantly cough. It seriously marred our holiday. Plus - despite the cottage being advertised as not accepting dogs there were dog bowls. We did contact the agents. Their reply is below. We would not recommend to anyone who is asthmatic / had COPD / CF etc. I am sorry you are having an issue with Atlantic Cottage and a smell of damp and evidence of pets. There is a section in our Terms and Conditions which says: If any Holidaymaker has an allergy to dogs, please be aware that neither our Owners nor we can guarantee that a dog has not stayed in a particular Property. Neither we nor our Owners can accept responsibility for any suffering which may occur as a result of such animals having been present in a Property. also: Whilst many of our older properties have charm and character, some were built before the days of damp proofing courses and cavity insulation. As a result, sometimes they have a tendency to be damp and despite the care we take when inspecting a property, damp patches may occasionally appear especially after a long wet winter or through condensation if windows have not been left open to allow air to circulate. Holiday Cottages Response - Thank you for your feedback. We are looking into the issues you have reported. Hide

A wonderful cottage for a perfect stay. This was our 2nd visit and we will be booking again. A 1 minute walk to the beach and just a few minutes walk to the harbour. The cottage has everything and really is a home from home. Our family of 4 love it and cant wait to return
