Property code: OC-HHARRO

Situated in the beautiful Suffolk countryside on a working farm, this charming cottage is ideal for a couple or a family looking for a restful holiday in the country with up to three yop dogs. Delightfully situated close to the meandering River Yox, Yoxford (1 mile) is a pretty town where your hounds can lead you on one of the many circular walks.

This characterful semi-detached barn conversion was thoughtfully restored to preserve the original character of the former cart lodge with its hay loft above. Lots of natural light and stylish furnishings make it a relaxing retreat for you and your pups. Downstairs is a delightful lounge with exposed wooden beams, a cosy wood burner and French doors opening to the garden and a contemporary kitchen/diner with all you need to make meal preparation a cinch. From here, stairs lead to the converted hay loft, where you’ll find a double bedroom with a sloping attic-style ceiling and a skylight which overlooks the garden. There is also an attic-style twin room. Both bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms. The landscaped garden offers an outside space for al fresco dining in the summer months and guests also can use other lawned areas around the cottages with ample garden furniture and a BBQ. On the grounds of the farmhouse, there is a pond and moat, which are unfenced.

When it is time for a run on the beach, Walberswick (13 miles) is the perfect choice. Offering strolls, dunes to explore and sandcastle and sea splashing options, it is an all-year-round winner. For history buffs, visit the remarkable Anglo-Saxon Sutton Hoo site (17.5 miles) or Framlingham Castle (10 miles). For top dogs who like to leave no stick unfetched, Rendlesham Forest (15.5 miles) is a must-visit. You can enjoy plenty of marked paths around these beautiful woodlands, suitable for all ages.

The two cottages in the barn conversion are absolutely charming, containing everything needed for your stay. Our host was on hand to greet us and answer any questions we had and the location was superb.
