An impressive barn conversion in picturesque rural surroundings near Sotterley is an ideal base for extended family groups and friends and up to two favourite canine companions looking for a peaceful holiday in the Suffolk countryside. The property has walks from the doorstep that are sure to set tails wagging. You have easy access to the countryside and coastal attractions, with Covehithe Beach only 5 miles away, where your hounds can splash in the sea year-round.

Step inside this enchanting two-storey property that marries attractive original features with sumptuous contemporary style. The heart of the property is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the courtyard garden and countryside. Stoke up the wood burner on chilly evenings; perfect for keeping you and your pups warm on cooler evenings. The chic kitchen has everything you need to prepare some hearty feasts. There is also a second lounge, with a wood burner, Smart TV, and doors onto the garden, so there are plenty of choices of where to relax. The downstairs also features a family shower, a king-size bedroom with TV and en-suite shower room, a bunk bedroom suitable for children up to 12, and one twin. Upstairs are two more super-king-size bedrooms – one with a TV and en-suite shower room and one with a TV and en-suite bathroom. Outside is a mature garden where you can dine alfresco in tranquil surroundings. You must supervise children and pets outside as the ornamental pond is not covered.

Walberswick, 10 miles away, is the perfect place to go crabbing and spend time on the beach. For a day on the Broads with your pups, head to Beccles (5.5 miles) and hire day cruisers to explore the Norfolk Broads. Wildlife lovers must visit Kessingland Beach (6.5 miles), which is unspoilt and rarely overcrowded, before heading into the beautiful Benacre Nature Reserve.

An exceptional barn that we have really enjoyed staying in. The location and grounds were picturesque and tranquil. A great place to unwind and spend time with family. We will definitely stay again.

A beautiful barn, very spacious and refurbished to exceptional standard. My group and I had a wonderful stay, complemented by a beautiful sunset in the garden. Very clean and well equipped.

Excellent cottage and well equipped with very comfortable living room and seating in the dining/kitchen plus two wood burners. Used just once on a cold wet day over Easter school holidays but a lovely warm evening as a result. Plenty of outside seating as well, well kept with easy access to storage chest to replace cushions.

I hired Alexandra Barn as the venue for an annual family get-together so it was an important decision. The property delivered on every level and was enthusiastically embraced by everyone, including Margaux the Labrador. The location was quiet, private and perfect for our event and was made particularly joyful by the presence of the Boules Court. ThRead moree owner was charming, friendly and always ready to provide guidance and assistance as and when required. I would have no hesitation in booking Alexandra Barn again or its sister property, the Granary, for a smaller event. Hide

Alexandra Barn was a perfect place to celebrate a special birthday. It was an amazing space to spend time with friends - lots of common space for eating and chatting, quiet spaces to chill, five comfy bedrooms, and a really well equipped kitchen. The house manages to combine huge spaces, stunning design and a real feeling of cosiness.

Fabulous barn - lots of space and extremely well kitted out. Amazing beds and quality bed linen/towels. Ideal dog area in large utility room. Toasty log burners and fantastic kitchen. Lovely outdoor areas and lots of parking right outside front door. Cannot fault this place and would definitely recommend. Good value too.
