This delightful character cottage is nestled on the Suffolk coast, in the peaceful village of Dunwich. The property welcomes five guests and one waggy-tailed pal, and suits families and groups of friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The area is awash with walking tracks and trails to explore with the hound, from remote rambles at Dunwich Heath (1.5 miles) to shoreline strolls at the beach (0.5 miles). In the evenings, enjoy an al fresco supper or chats around the fire pit in the attractive cottage garden.

The holiday home is full of personality, with fabulous beamed ceilings, exposed brickwork, and original flooring. The hub of the house is a bright kitchen/diner, where you’ll find everything needed to whip up delicious feasts for the group, which you can share around the farmhouse-style table. Just off the kitchen is a handy utility area with a dedicated sleeping spot for your canine chum. After dinner, retire to the cosy lounge to chill out on the sumptuous sofas to watch the Smart TV or read a book in the glow of the warming wood burner. When day turns to night, head upstairs to the three inviting bedrooms – choose from a double, a small double, or a single. Completing the first floor is a workstation on the landing and a family bathroom. Please note, this floor has sloping ceilings, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas. French doors open from the kitchen into the garden, which features a sunny patio area with a picnic bench for al fresco dining. Beyond the patio, the enclosed garden has ample space for children and four-pawed guests to play. The property has private parking for one car.

The village of Dunwich is steeped in history and legend, which can be explored at the fascinating, paw-friendly Dunwich Museum. Within the village, you’ll also find a friendly pub and a cute tearoom. The National Trust’s Dunwich Heath is a paradise for four-pawed adventurers, with a network of footpaths to sniff and explore through forests and across heather-clad heaths, including areas dedicated to off-lead fun. Day trips from the cottage include the seaside resorts of Southwold and Aldeburgh, and the market town of Framlingham (all within 15 miles).

Beautiful cottage which was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It has lots of original features and a real sense of history, including a steep winding staircase. The garden is gorgeous, enclosed with a patio with eating area and BBQ. The area is a nature lover's paradise with walks from the door. Plenty of options for eating out, including Read morethe local Ship Inn and the Eels Foot which is a good walk. We found the heating in January a little on the cold side and there was lots of building work going on around the cottage. Hide

We have been going to cottages for years and this is easily our favourite. The beds were very comfortable and everything in the cottage was really good quality. The location is perfect we will definitely try to come back again.

Cottage is in a great location to explore the Suffolk Coast and within a short walk to the beach. Cottage is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Garden secure for the dog. Neighbour was friendly. Suffolk was beautiful with so much history to explore.

The cottage is in a great location for the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths, and is ideal for walkers and birders, being close to Minsmere, and Dunwich and Westleton Heaths, and is only a short drive from both Aldeburgh and Southwold. The small garden is a sun trap and a lovely spot to relax or eat in fine weather. We found it generally clean and comfortaRead moreble and was fine for the two of us, although possibly a bit of a squeeze for 5. The stairs were a bit of a challenge for the less nimble. Hide

This is a lovely cottage with loads of footpaths and bridleways right on the doorstep. Its a short walk or drive into Dunwich itself if you want to visit the pub, take a torch if you want to walk back at night. Nice sun trap of a rear dog proof garden Nice big fridge freezer which was great as there are no shops nearby but we found we could get aRead more delivery from Sainsburys rather than take all our supplies with us, you may want to leave the driver a phone number to help them find you. We were lucky enough to meet the owners who are great. I can whole heartedly recommend this cottage and will be back to visit it again in the Autumn. Hide

Lovely cozy cottage with good heat output fan storage heaters and a log burner for the colder months. Great to have a hard floor kitchen and utility room for muddy days and returning with dogs. The Ship Inn within 10mins walk and the beach is a little further on the same road or path also the nearby holiday park has a pub with carvery for Sunday Read moreroasts. Both pubs allow dogs. Perfect location for waling or cycling and plenty of footpaths, woodlands locally. Internet Wifi TV with usual apps and fast broadband in the cottage. Hide

A comfortable house set on a quiet lane. Books, games and jigsaw puzzles also come with the house, perfect for a rainy day. Kitchen equipment had everything we needed. It's a short walk to the local pub and the beach, and if you do this at dusk there are torches provided to help light your way. We loved sitting out in the garden - either to enjoy tRead morehe afternoon sunshine or at night to look up at the stars and listen to the owls. We had a lovely stay here in this very clean little cottage in Dunwich. The decor throughout has been very thoughtfully selected. The stairs are a little tricky/wonky for any mobility issues particularly with the only toilet upstairs. We found the storage heaters difficult to use as they gave out very little heat. You can buy good firewood at the fRead morearm shop & cafe a couple of miles away. The welcome tray of home laid eggs was much appreciated. The little garden/courtyard is well designed and a delight to use in good weather from the kitchen patio doors. The location is great with several walks from the property and the fabulous birdwatching area, Minsmere, just around the corner. There are many places to visit nearby including walks at Thorpeness and Orford & of course Southwold, Walberswick & Aldeburgh. Hide
