Host a celebration in the private west wing of a traditional Gothic Victorian mansion near the beach on the Llyn Peninsula. This property which was built in 1857 and originally part of the famous Madryn Estate is also home to an art gallery, heritage centre and cafe. Inside you’ll find a spiral staircase, a mezzanine level and a dining room with vaulted ceilings. Spend your time away exploring the idyllic Welsh coastline and charming villages plus swimming in the sea with your canine companions.
Walk through the private entrance at the rear of the building to reach the entrance hall with a wide staircase and a lift. Upstairs is the main dining room with sash windows and a table with chairs. Continue into the kitchen, which is homely and well-organised, with plenty of space for preparing special meals for your guests. Put your feet up in the living room, where you’ll find three large sofas and an electric wood burner. On the first floor is also a family bathroom and four bedrooms – two doubles with an en-suite, a twin with an en-suite and another twin room. Climb the spiral staircase to reach the quirky mezzanine area with twin beds(available on request). Outside is a private patio area with a BBQ and seating.
Explore the expansive lawned grounds during your stay, and take advantage of the onsite cafe. In the village of Llanbedrog, there is a handful of shops and canine-welcoming pubs (within 0.5 miles). Start your day with a morning swim at Llanbedrog beach (less than 400 metres) – one of the best, sheltered sandy beaches on the peninsula which allows dogs all year round. From here you can walk along the coast in either direction for spectacular sea views, hidden coves and more beaches – Abersoch beach is 3.5 miles south and Traeth Crugan is 1.5 miles north. The vast expanse of Porth Neigwl’s sandy shores is 5 miles away – National Trust Plas yn Rhiw (7 miles) offers spectacular views over the bay and is a quaint 16th-century manor house.
