"The property was really clean and very well furnished. The showers were fantastic and it was lovely to have great big bath sheet towels. The beds were very comfortable. Bob was very friendly and answered any questions we had and suggested some lovely places to visit. The garden and outdoor toys were great for the children and the dog, and the children loved visiting and feeding the pigs. The setting was lovely and peaceful yet really handy for a short drive into Beccles, and short drives to nearby beaches" - Joanna Davis
Situated just 2 miles outside the village of Beccles, this tastefully decorated single storey cottage was once a barn. Now converted to create bright and spacious living areas, and cosy, comfortable bedrooms, the property is a haven for families or friends looking to get away from it all with their dogs. There’s so much to do right from the doorstep, while the wider Suffolk countryside and coastline are also easily accessible to explore.
Inside, you’ll find all sleeping and living accommodation on one floor. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is a vast space with impressive vaulted ceilings giving lots of wow factor. It’s full of light, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and a neutral colour scheme. Guests can kick back and relax on one of the three large sofas, while any resident dogs curl up beside the wood burner. The dining table is big enough to fit up to 12 guests, and the well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar too for informal mealtimes. Three of the four bedrooms are twins, which have zip-and-link beds which can be turned into super-king-size beds if required. There’s also a double room. All bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. Outside, guests will find a patio with dining furniture and a BBQ. The space opens out onto a lawn, so children and dogs alike can run around, burning off any extra energy.
When you’re ready to leave the property, you could head into Beccles, which has quirky shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s home to the River Waveney running through it too, which provides many pretty riverside walks for your dog. You could, of course, head further afield to the beaches on Suffolk’s picturesque coast. Southwold is a great example, and is also home to many dog-friendly pubs.
