Realy enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in the cottage before. The only draw back this time were the road closures. However nothing owners can do about that. Tbe cottage was just as we remembered it and will be back.

Absolutely would not visit this property again. Having called the managing agents regarding no hot water or heating on arrival, we were passed on to someone in Whitby who contacted the owner, who eventually arrived to sort out the problem. This should have been checked before we arrived. We also told the managing agents about two missing heaterRead mores, but this was not rectified during our stay. It was very very disappointing as we have stayed in this property twice before and had no problems whatsoever. As a result of all this we decided to leave a day early. Hide

A warm and welcoming cottage in a prime location. Well equipped, clean, comfortable, spacious and well presented and a very comfortable bed. The welcome pack is a lovely gesture as was the deer antler bone found by our dog! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be booking the cottage again.

The layout of the cottage is fantastic. The kitchen is an amazing space to cook in. The garden was excellent especially as we have two boarder terriers. The space allowed them to run around off the lead. The location is fantastic, a short walk and your in The centre of Hawes.

Old Penny Bank is a lovely cottage, good facilities within the cottage and a good location for Hawes and the Yorkshire Dales. Unfortunately the lorries going past did wake us up early, mainly due to the road surface changing from tarmac to cobbles outside the cottage - but this is obviously not the fault of the owner and is unavoidable.
