Escape to this inviting duplex apartment in the thriving market town of Alnwick and enjoy it as a base for your dog-friendly adventures in Northumberland. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom, first-floor holiday home offers a tail-wagging welcome to four-legged friends. Explore the town, dine out in pubs and cafes that welcome pups and head off to the dramatic coast for days on the beach.

Call your happy hound into the building with you at ground-floor level and follow the stairs up to the first floor together. Emerge in a light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/kitchen, where he can stretch out while you unpack any shopping in the kitchen. Feed him supper over here, prepare your dinner with the Northumberland ingredients you have bought, then dine at the table. Watch TV or read your books on quiet evenings in. As night turns to day, settle him then head up to the floor above to lay your head in either the double or single bedroom. The family bathroom is also here. This apartment has no outside space, but you and your chum can stroll 500 metres down to the River Aln and enjoy a walk along its banks. Parking is in free public car parks close by.

Head down to the river to pick up footpaths that take you through fields and woods and offer spectacular views of Alnwick Castle. Pack a picnic and few dog treats and venture 5.5 miles to the coast at Longhoughton, where your delighted dog can have fun on the beach at any time. Pick up the Northumberland Coast Path here and strike out in either direction. Have a day out to Dunstanburgh, 7 miles away, where you and your pal can visit the 14th-century fortress, explore its grounds, play on the beach and look for seals in the waves.

We had a fantastic week at this property - Very comfortable and ideal for our needs. Ideal to drive to all the locations that we wanted to go to. Would use the property again if we ever come back to Northumberland.

Excellent central location for touring from. Also plenty to see within walking distance. Just be aware of the 2 flights of stairs which aren't mentioned in the details.

Centrally located and very handy for pubs, bars and restaurants. Also only a few minutes walk to Alnwick Castle.

This property was an ideal central location in walking distance to Alnwick castle and gardens the noise from nearly bars wasnt a problem. Ideally the property could do with a bit of updating like new crockery although clean was chipped mostly the sofa and rugs which were past there best for a holiday let. Other than that it was generally clean loveRead morely comfortable beds and clean bedding. Its got everything going for it just needs a bit of a revamp in some areas. Hide
