With woodland, coastal and countryside walks right on the doorstep, and a gorgeous garden to play fetch in, this single-story retreat in the North York Moors National Park is quite simply puppy paradise. Sleeping five guests, the three-bedroom cottage, 2 miles from Harwood Dale and 6 miles from Scarborough, in Yorkshire, is also a paw-some choice for pets, making it ideal for a family with a happy hound in tow or two couples with a canine companion.
Take two steps up into the porch, where you can dry your damp dog down before taking him through into the hall and then the open-plan lounge/diner. Light the open in here after autumn and winter walks then settle down in front of the TV with a cup of Yorkshire tea and your faithful friend at your feet. Dine in here too after preparing homecooked meals through in the well-equipped kitchen, where there is also space to feed your four-legged friend. As eyelids droop, head off for a shower or bath in the family bathroom and then a good night’s sleep in the double bedroom, the twin or the single. Let your bouncing chum bound out into the beautiful garden on sunny mornings. Cook supper out here on the BBQ as he chases balls in the fresh air, and you take in the views. There is plenty of parking at the property.
Find footpaths straight from the front door of this delightful, dog-friendly retreat. Enjoy woodland walks at Harwood Dale Forest, 4.5 miles away, or venture the same distance to Hayburn Wyke, where you can see a beautiful waterfall and pups can paddle in the shallows and play freely on the beach at any time of year. Pick up the Cleveland Way here too and walk out along the coast for a spell.
