When you return from a day exploring Southwold and the Suffolk coast, gather in this spacious and welcoming home for a delicious meal, a board game or a relaxed evening with a favourite film. Just a short walk from being able to dip a toe (or a paw) in the sea, it’s a great destination for group gatherings, family get-togethers and special celebrations.
The heart of this lovely house is the huge, bright kitchen/diner, with its cast-iron range, long dining table and comfortable armchairs and window seat. After supper, you can all head for the elegant lounge where there’s a Smart TV and a coal-effect gas fire, perfect for a cosy evening with canine companions snoozing by your feet. There’s a shower room on the ground floor, and a bathroom and separate WC on the first floor. On the first floor, you’ll also find two of the four bedrooms – an airy king-size with an en-suite shower room and a jauntily decorated twin. A cottage-style staircase takes you to the top floor, with two double bedrooms tucked under sloping ceilings, one of which also has a single bed. On sunny days, the enclosed courtyard is a great place for a morning coffee or an evening drink.
With so much to see and do in vibrant Southwold, it’s great to be in the heart of the action. The iconic lighthouse is on your road, while shops, pubs and plenty of places to eat are all within 0.5 miles. The main beach is just 150 metres, with Denes Beach (open to dogs all through the summer months) around 0.5 miles. For fun and games, wander along the Victorian pier and try out the eccentric array of slot machines, or you could have a quiet day in old-fashioned Walberswick, reached by a ferry across the River Blyth.
