Breathe the fresh salty air and drink in the coastal views from this superb, three-storey Southwold townhouse that’s just metres from the beach. Every room has been beautifully designed for a relaxing seaside getaway, whether you’re celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, getting together with several generations of your family or gathering a group of friends.
In this imposing red-brick house, the rooms are generously sized and have high ceilings, with soft colours and an array of artwork adding to the stylish mix. On the ground floor, you’ll find two spaces in which to sit and relax: the principal lounge and a cosy snug. The bright and airy kitchen is a huge space in which to prepare holiday meals, to enjoy either at the breakfast table or in the more formal dining room. On the first floor, you’ll find three bedrooms, separated by a few steps – a double and a twin sharing a bathroom with a roll-top bath, and a super-king-size with a balcony and en-suite shower room. On the top floor three further bedrooms, a super-king-size and two singles with sea views, share a pretty shower room. As for outside space, the long, thin courtyard is a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee, an evening drink or an al fresco meal.
There’s so much to do in this iconic seaside town, from admiring the colourful beach huts as you stroll along the promenade to trying some local seafood in one of the many great places to eat. Don’t miss the Victorian pier with its interactive (and eccentric) slot machines. In summer, pups are welcome on Denes Beach, just south of the town, or you can catch the rowing boat ferry over to Walberswick, where you’ll find a long, dog-friendly beach as well as pubs, tearooms, restaurants and shops.
